On my computer, I’m exploring the Molly, but on the dark side. I’m still trying to understand the reversal to the right side. My bankroll is $200 (free). I’m learning to avoid the 6/8 & bet on the other numbers. I lay 1x odds. I bet $5 on the DP, but if the point is 6 or 8, I take it down & go w/ DC bets. I’m not sophisticated enough to keep track of numbers winning, etc., to progress/regress odds, etc, nor the bankroll to do so. I’m not winning big nor losing big, which is ok w/ me. My max bet on the table at any one time is about $43.

I understand dark side is for cold tables & right side is for hot tables. I still need to develop a sense of where the table is going so I know when to switch from dark to right, or vice versa, but one never knows. As you might guess, since I’ve been playing on the dark side, miraculously, the points made are exceeding the 7 outs. (My program tracks this.)

What do you think of this “Dark Side Molly” strategy? Is it a waste of time? It seems to be a wash between Molly on the dark & Molly on the right.

I am looking for ideas on how to throw the dice at home. Without a table or anything to reasonably mimic a table what could be best used to throw the dice into? I’ve got a pair of dice from a casino and also a new stick that is unused. I know I can’t exactly duplicate a table I’m just looking for ideas as to what would be fairly close and help learn to keep the dice on axis.

I’m a conservative player.

I usually don’t bet (unless the table has a Firebet) using the 5 count method. Once we are past 5 rolls, I’ll place the 6 & 8. After a few wins there, I’ll place the 5 and also start playing the field. As field bets win, I’ll then place the 4, 9, & 10 and continue with the field. 4, 9, & 10 then pay off double for me. The field also pays on 2, 3, 11, or 12.

However, the field loses on 5, 6, & 8. I can put $1.00 on 2 & 12 and get paid 30 to 1, & on the 3, and 11 and get paid 11 to 1. So, once I have all the numbers placed, am I better off continuing to play the field where I still collect on 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, & 12 - 2 & 12 pay double OR would I be better off quitting the field and putting $1.00 on 2, 3, 11, & 12? Each roll of the dice risks $4.00. But if those numbers happen to hit alot, I make out bigtime. If they don’t, I lose $4.00 with each roll.

What do you say?

Also if there were any threads you could you post here to learn some basics, i know that the answers are in here somewhere but i’m having trouble finding it.
Do casinos allow a Place bet on the Point Number? Or, does it vary w/ the casino? I ask this because I’m planning to use my own version of the Iron Cross on my next craps foray. The way I play the IC on my computer is to wait until Point established, then Place the 5, 6, & 8 & make the Field bet. But, sometimes one of them is the Point. I have nothing on the PL & there should be no conflict, but I don’t know.

As long as I’m at it, can a Place bet technically be made on the Point number, even if I’d have a PL bet? I wouldn’t do this if I had a PL bet on the Point. Just asking. I read somewhere that both bets can’t be on the same Point. I’m just wondering if that holds when there’s no PL bet & I want to Place the 5, 6, or 8 if one is the Point.

Please don’t get into why I’d want to use the IC; I know the arguments for & against. I just like the simplicity of it & have had fairly good results w/ it.
On the computer, that is.

In another thread (http://www.crapsforum.com/viewthread/10073/) I talked about the 3PM & how well it worked on my computer. Last Thurs. & Fri., I used it exclusively at the NorthernQuest Casino at Spokane, WA. This casino is owned by the Kalispel Indian Tribe & is as good an environment as in Vegas. If any of you are in that area of the NW, check it out. Pit crew very competent, must have been trained in Vegas. You’ll be impressed.

Anyway, I played 5 one-hour sessions, 2 Thurs. & 3 Friday. (I can’t stand at the table much over an hour.) My stake was $200/session. After 4 sessions, I was up $121. I decided to play the 5th session & lost $141. So, I lost $20 for the 5 sessions. Not too bad. The thing is, the 3PM held up pretty well. I am, however, reflecting on betting $30-31 per bet on my small stake. Heavy, in another thread, suggested a PL w/ 1x odds & 6/8 place bets, taking down the 6/8 when it wins. When in the 5th session I saw my chip stack dwindling early on, I should have switched to this strategy & will consider it as a fall back in the future.

On my computer, I play sessions w/ various strategies. I’d like to compare one strategy w/ another, but my program doesn’t let me compare strategies using the same roll sequence. I have a Mac & any simulators I’ve seen require Windows machines. Yes, I could run Windows programs on my Mac, but it’s too much hassle to set up. Anyway, would just like to know if various craps strategies have been compared, using the same roll sequence. I also understand that the roll sequence used doesn’t transfer to all roll sequences. It would take a series of trials w/ different sequences & even then results would probably be inconclusive. Just want to know if this has ever been done in simulation.
