57 years ago today. I was in the 7th grade at St Matthew’s. I clearly remember it.
It remains the #1 historical day in my life.

I was a 10yo in 5th grade when all my classmates were turning 11 including the girls who matured faster then boy's anyway. It was a tough time.
I still remember hanging between the grape vines in my back yard. They were huge 40 year old concord grape vines on a 8 foot high trellis made of pipe. Covered a 10x40 ft area.
Hanging there, out of school early, wondering why someone would shoot the Pres everyone loved.

What year Corvette did you have. Don't matter. You mentioned old cars, and that opens you up to being inundated with useless old car trivia.

Chevy used the same front suspension for cars from 49-54. The Corvette continued to use it from 53-62.

Here's mine out of that Sedan Delivery.

I lived about 7 miles north of McCoy, right in line with the runway. Many a B-52, and KC-135 flew low over the house. Noisy bastards they were. Lived in the Audubon Park development, just a stones throw from Lake Shannon.
