Well, First trip ever to Las Vegas is in the books. WOW is all I can say!! What a place! Can’t wait to go back.

Stayed at New York New York. Really liked it. Big enough for everything I wanted, yet small enough that I didn’t get lost in it whenever I walked around. We got there at 10:00 am and was pleasantly surprised they already had a room ready for us. Used mobile check-in, which is nice because it skips the line of people waiting to check in with the front desk clerk. Highly recommend it.

Had tickets for the Cirque Soleil O show that evening, so we wanted to get our bearings in the Bellagio before the show. Plus we wanted to check out the fountains. Also had to check out the craps table of course. Bought in for $400 on a $10 table. Played for about 20 minutes. Left -$28. Bounced around the sights in the hotel; shops, gardens, restaurants, etc...

Got a 3 day bus pass, so I just had to scan my phone while getting on. Made it so much easier as opposed to walking to the hotel, and through to the back of the hotel to catch the monorail.

Found it was cheaper to eat at the buffets than in the restaurants.

Got myself a nice collection of cards walking the streets. Lol.

I’ll skip the shopping details of the trip and stick to the craps:

    Craps observations:
Although I found a $5 table occasionally, most of the time it was $10 tables. Even played a $15 table. Here in New York, we have 5 casinos near us; Turning Stone, Yellow Brick, Pointe Place, Del Lago, and Tioga Downs. Only Del Lago offers the Fire bet. In Vegas, I came across the All, Small, Tall and Repeater tables. No Fire Bet. Didn’t care for the Repeaters. Loved the All, Small, Tall. Hit it a couple of times on each side, almost got the All on my last day. Needed a damn 12. Played 3-1-3 on it, so I picked up $93 on that. Would have been nice to get the extra $244. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Wonderful. Vegas is a wild city. Lotta fun.

Leaving up a few hundred is even better.

Try the Beatles Cirque show next time. I think it’s the best of the 5.

    Funn
Funny you say that. Growing up a Beatles nut, I’ve wanted to see that one for years now. But being the nice husband, I got tickets for my wife and I to see the O show. 3 hours of synchronized swimming. Ugh!

Glad you enjoyed your time in Las Vegas and left town with more gaming $$$ than you had upon arriving. Smart move on your part to see O instead of Love this visit. You are now basically assured of a return trip to Las Vegas. Plus, the considerate gesture on your part will pay off in other areas, lol.

    Nice trip report, thanks.

FWIW: The bubble machine at NYNY is a good meeting place that is easy to spot. When the wife and I go separate directions on that end of the strip we often meet back up there.

    thanx for sharing trip report.

I do think its a bit ridiculous the prices lately.

me and my adult children, 4 of us, went to dinner and circque show Ka few years back, ran me 1100 bucks for dinner and a show.

but vegas is an exciting different place, no other on earth like it. you are brave for going in late may with the hot temps.

True. It really seems to be the right size for a casino. Not too big and not too small. I seriously got lost in places like the Venetian and Caesars.

The Beatles show is just awesome. I’ve seen it 5 times and want to go again. Between the acrobats, the music...never a dull moment.

The O show is good too....but a little slow for me. The diving scenes are very nice.

My son graduated Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio a few days prior, so we made a side trip to Vegas. It was around 91 but it didn’t seem too bad. A lot less humidity than New York.

I've done that drive. San Antonio, Route 10, El Paso..Carlsbad Caverns (not to be missed), Tucson, Phoenix, Las Vegas. West Texas you can have....the scenery starts in New Mexico and gets better from there.

If your traveling I-10 there is not much to see, between ElPaso, and Tucson. Better to take Rt. 70 out of lordsburg NM. to Phoenix, through Safford & Globe, much more interesting drive. There are a lot of neat things to see, on the back roads of Arizona. :)
