I was playing WinCraps and started betting $12 on the PL with a progressive that pays $120 on 6 wins, and the $6 PB 6 & PB 8 which has a progressive that pays $150 for 9 wins on each number in one hand. I was watching my bankroll sink about $400 on useless hands, but was reprieved almost back to the start with a hot hand that included 8x 6's & 9x 8's that paid on the PB's, and I hit my mark on the PL.

So I'm thinking I could raise my betting amount by $12 PL/$6 PBs every so often.
I'm guessing I need $400 to deep dive on before I hit a hot hand.
    Bets----------Balance
    $12/$6-----------$400
    $24/$12---------$800
    $36/$18-------$1600
    $48/$24-------$2800
    $60/$30-------$4400
    Etc.

This becomes kind of like Keno. I keep losing until the hot hand comes around. Then I can raise my bet for a couple hands before I lower them, and waiting for the next hot hand. How often do hot hands come?

Not as often as you might think. Looking back through a few books I entered in bonetracker 4 hands of 20 or more rolls without a seven is about average in 720 rolls or about 7 hours of play at a full table. Comeout sevens increase that number but I don't track that.

It also depends on the texture of the roll. I saw a hand in the 20's last night that had 11 craps numbers.

I've seen several hot hands in an hour and I've went for many hours of play without seeing a hot hand.

One thing to remember is you can click off 100 rolls in wincraps in a few minutes. That same 100 rolls is about an hour of what can be at times worse than watching paint dry time at a full table.

Hot hands are definitely "a thing of beauty and a joy forever" as my dad was fond of saying, but the engine that drives casino profits, what one of our regulars labels (low bridge, mateys) "casino math", says they do not occur often enough to lift players (considered as a conglomerate) from the hole dug for them by the not-so-hot hands...ceteris paribus.
