    Excuse the perhaps trivial question.
Question 1/. I see there are a few $2 or $3 games at Casinos in Henderson along The Boulder Hwy (Jokers Wild, Club Fortune and Sams Town). Would you be allowed to make a pass line/come bet of say $4 or $7? (ie) any value you like providing it is above the minimum?
Why I ask is that I’m pretty sure at $5 tables increases need to be in $5 increments. Likewise a $10 table requires $5 increments.
Question 2/. Do these lower value tables play with 25 and 50 cent chips? I noticed $1 chips are the lowest craps tables use along the strip and downtown.
    Thanks for any comments.

Only tables under $5 I know of are on the Boulder Highway. Arizona Charlies Decatur may be but I didn't play there when we checked it out last fall.

On the line bets and field on any game you can bet what ever amount you wish as long as it's table min or above. On a $10 table you can bet $13 etc.

You may get some grumbling from the crew and they'll convert your white every chance they get at many tables.

I've played pass line flat only, up $1 on a loss, down $1 on a win in the past when killing time was my primary objective.

A casino would need $0.50 (or $0.25) chips for a $3 craps game just to properly pay off winning $3 Place bets. Using $0.25 chips might take up too much space on the table, although some of the higher denomination chips could be removed.

If the casino has a $3 craps game but doesn't have $0.50 (or $0.25) chips, either bet so you can be properly paid (e.g., multiples of $5 & $6 on Place bets) or better yet, find a better casino. Shouldn't be too hard.

Years ago, Casino Royale (on the Strip) used to have a $3 table during the day, but I haven't stopped by in a long time.

    The loco NA casino has $3 games on weekdays. A $3 6/8 gets paid $3. A $3 5/9 gets paid $4. I haven't observed anyone make a $3 4/10.

Last time I was at Ameristar in KC they had $2.50 chips on the table and they would properly pay $15 odds bet on a 5/9 with $22.50.

    Only place I've seen that.

It's bad enough to get short-changed (ok, paid less than true odds) 7 to 6 on a winning Place 6 (or 8), but getting paid even money on a winning Place 6 (or 8) bet is robbery. Is there signage on the craps table indicating this (doubtful)? Make it a $6 Place 6 (or 8) bet or better yet, don't gamble if $3 more at risk is too much.

So Ameristar KC craps tables are borrowing $2.50 chips from its blackjack tables, huh, lol? Good that the casino is paying off the odds properly on a winning 5/9 PL/Come bet, even if the bettor messed up. However, that just screws things up if they make the same (incorrect) odds bet when 5/9 is the point at another casino. Oh well, Darwinism at work at the craps tables...

Many moons and a couple owners ago my local haunt had half-dollars on tables and would pay a $3 Place 6/8 $3, but if the player left the bet up the dealer would put a half-dollar on it to signify it had won. If it won again the dealer would pay $4 and take the Kennedy.
Back in the day I saw a $3 Place 4/10 paid $5 at some Native American joints, and one -- Lucky Eagle in Rochester, WA -- even had "birds" on the table and paid $5.25.

They originally had quarter craps when the first casino opened in Iowa. I didn't play craps back then. I assume 6 quarters paid seven on the six/eight etc. etc.

My first gambling attempt was a $20 buy in on a $2 Blackjack table. Didn't have a clue how to play so I played what I found out later was the never bust strategy.

Doubled my money that day. Sometimes I wish I'd of lost it as I may have never gambled again if I had.

this is how you locate casinos with 2 or 3 dollar mins.
you drive by the casino at 10 am or so, take notice if all the handicap spots are filled.
Odds are, its the casino that is catering to the people who live off of social security income.

at any table, you can bet in dollar increments over the min bet, at least in my 40 something years playing Ive never been instructed or reprimanded otherwise.

just make sure you make your bets to allow proper odds payouts.

Thanks for the replies guys. I’m genuinely surprised the general census is that you can bet anything you like over the minimum on the line or come bets. I’ll check here at Crown in Melbourne but I doubt very much that will be the case. Pretty confident they’ll say $5 increments but happily stand to be corrected.
The only reason I was asking about the 50 cent chips was that I like to lay the 4 or 10 to cover my dc bet. Noticed they didn’t exist in the casinos I was playing whilst in Vegas. If I’m only wanting to make a $20 lay bet I refuse to pay the 10% vig if it wins solely because the casino chooses not to have 50 cent chips.

Here is the only time I have seen a ruling that a bet had to be made in some increment. I suspect it was not "company policy" but rather something that boxman came up with to feel important because it was not a rule I routinely encountered at that casino.

Lay vig is calculated on the potential win amount, not the bet itself.

Most places in the states insist on a $40 min lay on the 4 or 10. Some will book a smaller bet but as you noted they charge $1 for the vig regardless.

I thought that the downtown Fremont had a sign that said $3 craps, despite no chips < $1. I was last there in June. We always catch the seafood buffet at the Fremont every Tuesday or Friday.

Offhand I don't recall that being an issue on the Win (Pass Line) at Crown Melbourne, but it's several months since I stopped by and I could have forgotten. Beautiful facility, one of the best casinos I have ever visited -- and I've been to a lot of them throughout the world collecting chips. Can't wait for Crown Sydney to open in Darling Harbour. If memory serves, Crown Melbourne dealers did require $5 increments for the middle action, which I found interesting, but given the 9.5 & 7.5 to 1 payouts on HWs and a few other differences in payouts (compared with US tables), perhaps not too surprising.

I would be very surprised if you reported back that crown didn't have 25c chips with which to use to make up the 50c.

I'd be very surprised if a guy flies to Australia, and plays for $3?

Firstly, the guy writes like an Aussie so he flew back home and not to Australia to play for $3.

Secondly, he only refers to the line as pass line instead of win line as a courtesy since most members here are from the U.S.

Thirdly, (now pay attention here duck) he has previously mentioned he was from Aus.

And finally we must ask, is he the real Wrongway?
