The Triple Crown resumes this Saturday with the Belmont Stakes running 1 1/8 mile instead of the usual 1 1/2 mile "Test of the Champions." The Derby will be run Labor Day weekend at Churchill Downs and the Preakness will be at Pimlico the first Saturday in October. Very few states will be open for simulcast betting, Ohio and West Virginia among them. Those two states will reopen simulcast wagering on 6/22, two days after the Belmont Stakes. Just how fuckin' stupid is that? Me and the wife will be at Mountaineer 6/19-20 regardless and will bet in another manner. Mister Inside has called both racing commissions and sent an email to Governor Justice of the Mountaineer State, who is a race fan and owner, asking him to move simulcasting resumption up two days. I had a very good two days betting Belmont Park last year, hitting 10 of 14 races, although there was a fair amount of chalk. I finished up $173 for the two days. That ain't hay! I will be driving to west Cleveland on Friday morning to get the Saturday Racing Form and I'll share my Saturday picks with my CF friends on Saturday morning.
