I found this article a good read and may not agree with the authors picks, but it got me reminiscing about some of the junk heaps I’ve driven, with both love and hate. I would guess that some of us have titled at least a dozen four wheelers and a few two wheelers in our years on the planet.

    I owned a pinto station wagon......not good.

    I owned a 76 Caddy....firemist red....white cordoba top....white leather uphostery....500 cubic inch engine......got 16 miles per gallon on the highway......great car.

Car was like this one, only not a convertible...note: in 76 caddy said it would be the last year they would make a convertible.

I think this guy was trying to look up her dress or maybe eyeing up Barney’s goat?

Missing on that list was the MGB by BMC. I had a convertible rag top same as photo that was in the shop pretty much every month. My mechanic actually begged me to get rid of it, though he was making a mint off me lol. That was my first car and I learned something about 'wiring' (and the importance of not trusting the British to do it...)

After that brief love affair I moved over to Volkswagen's, most notably the 'Thing'. I wish I still had this, best beach car ever. You simply lifted the windows out if you wanted open air lol Between this and a diesel VW pickup, the world was lookin' good..

I’ll bet you wish you had free storage somewhere back then, and still owned those 3 vehicles? They’d be worth a bunch today.

I too was lucky enough to have a VW for my second set of wheels. Mine was nowhere near this good of shape, but a 61 like this and same color. Froze my hinny off in the winter and had to carry a propane torch to defrost the windshield, but in the summer I loved that car.

Shortly after getting my liscense, I acquired one of these dream rides. Mine was black and half in the bone yard. But you never forget your first car.

I bought a fiat just like this one for 900 bucks I had to rebuild the motor re-upholster the seats and put a new rag top on her it was a five speed, when I would make my Vegas runs driving up frwy 15 going up cajon pass I would have to drop it from fifth to fourth and that little car would fly up that big hill I think this is the only reason the wife married me she luved to drive that car

This car is definitely in the Best category, although I didn’t own it. I was lucky enough to drive it a few times and can attest that it could cruise at 115mph without breaking a sweat. That’s as far as I was willing to push it, but there was room for more. This was my old man’s very first new car.

About a week after he bought it, a cop followed him into our driveway and wrote him a ticket. I thought my dad was going to jail or the hospital that day. Shall we say he became somewhat verbally abusive to that peace officer. The cop showed remarkable restraint and kept writing on the roof of his squad car, handed the ticket to my dad who cursed even louder and tore it up. The cop calmly got in his squad and drove away.

What’s the saying? It’s not your fathers Oldsmobile? But in this case it was.

It's too bad olds and pontiac are no more.....they were good cars.....olds use to be the experimental division for caddy....if it worked on the olds, in a year or two they would put the feature on the caddy.eg..front wheel drive.

I've owned oldsmobiles and pontiacs and liked them very much......they were talking of doing away with the Vette, but it never came to be......looks like the next generation Vette will feature a mid-engine...that should be interesting.
