Good morning everyone and happy Mothers Day to any lady members out there. Its been a while since I posted on the Forum. I just landed safely here in New Orleans! The Jazz music is filling the air with some of that wonderful rhythm and blues here inside the airport. I'm headed over to Biloxi for a relaxing 4 night stay on the Gulf Coast to play some dice and looking forward to some good seafood. I have a lot of stories to tell from the past 10 months. I will log in again after I get checked into my room..

Hi everyone. I finally made it here to Biloxi and got checked in to my room. Boy this trip got off to a crazy start.. There was a delay in New Orleans. I had a reservation to take the Greyhound from New Orleans to Biloxi. When I arrived at the bus station the agent told me they didn't have a driver and the trip was cancelled!.. At first I thought she was joking around with me. Then I realized she was serious.. She told me I could get a refund. What?.. A refund!?.. Well Yee Haa!!.. I have a reservation in Biloxi for the next 4 days I told her. I wasn't gonna spend $200 on a taxi ride from Louisiana to Biloxi. So I accepted the bus ticket she offered for the next day.. So there I was stranded in New Orleans for a day. I decided to make the best of it. Harrahs is here I thought and its only a short walk from the Greyhound Station. So I did a little sight seeing and after that walked over to Harrahs. I ended up playing at the table all night.. When I walked outside it was 7am.

When I made it back to the bus station I was told again by the agent that the trip to Biloxi had been cancelled yet again! What!..This is ridiculous I thought. I got on the phone and started to tell Greyhound what I thought of their service.. So finally after another 8 hour delay a driver from Houston pulled into the station and picked up all the stranded people. That driver was passing through Biloxi and was able to drop us off. So I finally got checked into my room a day and a half late. I was so exhausted from staying up all night playing at Harrahs in New Orleans that I just went up to my room and crashed on the bed. I've taken Greyhound before and had no problems. But the service from Greyhound on this trip was no good. There were no notifications sent out of any cancellations and Greyhound didn't even offer to put up the stranded passengers in a room for the night.

so what happened to the all night playing in harrahs? I hope you didn't lose 200 bucks that it would have cost for a cab.

Too bad your originally scheduled bus trip was cancelled and then the rebooked trip the following day was further delayed. Flights are cancelled, too, and the less said about Amtrak delays, the better, so it's not something unique to Greyhound. Not much you can do about it, though, if there is only 1 scheduled bus from New Orleans to Biloxi per day. That's the downside to traveling to Biloxi compared with Las Vegas -- common carrier options are much more limited. Still, I can think of worse places to be stranded than downtown New Orleans.

Hope you have a great time in Biloxi and enjoy success at the craps tables. Oh, and your return bus trip is without delay.

When I left in the morning I had turned my buy in into a nice chunk of cash. When I walked into the gaming area they had about 6 crap tables going. All of them packed! It was pretty busy for a Mothers Day. Last time I was in Harrahs New Orleans was over the 4th of July weekend last year. It was just as packed Sunday as it was on the 4th last year. One table was going strong and it was totally packed. It was really hot.. The people were cheering and yelling. When one of the guys backed away from the table I could see his black chips went from one end of the rack to the other. They had completely filled up the row in his chip rack! He was in the thousands.. There was definitely no room to stand at that table. Too bad. I wanted to get in there and play with some of those shooters. I played around on the other tables and one of the tables was nearly empty. A cold table.. Sure enough when I walked over there I seen most of the people were playing the Don't Pass. I've never been afraid of the Don'ts, so I joined right in. It was a cold table that's for sure. A lot of sevens coming off those dice! I faired pretty well on that table. Especially when a point of 4 or 10 came up. I would load up on the inside numbers for a few rolls then take down the place bets and totally load up on laying the odds on the Don't Pass! Then the seven would come! $$$$$$$ Ching! Ching! That table was a lot of fun.

In Louisiana, a day and a half late, is considered "on time", punctual, in fact. :)

Bravo Sir. You played a variation of the famous "Bell Curve"
Good for chilly choppy tables. Engagements are short, under 10 rolls.
Options & choices; go positive, then switch negative & collect all the way to the ultimate conclusion.
When you've got the timing down, it's a real hoot!

RE: Bell Curve....I would do just the opposite....

When you look at what happens at a table.....many bad things happen early.....very short hands are not uncommon......long hands are not common.......Early kills.

Tables are cold....choppy.......hot......2 out of 3 are bad for the DO player.

I think a good basicstrategy when approaching a table is to start on the Don't..........then switch to Do as things turn.

Considering what you see and what the math says, it baffles me why people load up early.

That's what we call playing the don'ts which is the preferred mode on a cold icy table. But I'm talking a choppy, maybe 1 & done, couple-of-repeat-numbers, table. How many of these have we seen...plenty.

I asked my Zen Master "Holy Craps" on this & here's a ruff translation.
"Weedhopper, when you plant seed, does it start out positive or negative? It grow, bear fruit, then wither away, waiting thru winter to return next season. Thus the cycle of life."

But I agree with not loading up early. Look for patterns, adjust accordingly. A thing in motion stays... & a table's signature remains the way it is, for a while at least.
    Good stuff.

duck....if I was real smart I'd always start on the Don't.....but I really don't like the Don'ts.....so I cut out some bad stuff by qualifying the shooter...then bet PL , no odds and then go thru the come box , no odds....that's about as conservative as I can get and play the way I prefer. With a long hand it doesn't matter if I start slow........

Gotta do breakfast at Mc Elroys for the real deal Shrimp& Grits. Right next to the Casinos on the waterfront looking over the shrimp boat harbor.
