Just spent a great weekend at CP-LV. I was pleasantly surprised to find 6 tables (3) with $15 and 2-3 @ $100 minimums; I did see a $25 table open for about 3 hours on Saturday afternoon. The (3) 15 tables had the worst lay-out I've seen with no Fire, no ATS but a Repeater bonus that slows the game to a crawl and keeps crews busy tracking mindless numbers. I played about 2-3 sessions a day and did not see one repeater payment. Now the good news.
The pit crews were professsional, friendly and knowledgeable. The players were more experienced with seldom a mid-roll buy-in or other rookie side shows. Most players were very smart with their bets and I saw a lot of money won. I was up $850 after the first day, gained to $1,250 by midday the second day and gave back $450 to net $800. I played a mixture of line bets with typically max odds along with a 3-point molly or 1-2 come bets with max odds. My wife and I have been MLife fans for years and usually did not visit too many TR properties. We will be back to Caesars, but DO NOT eat at the Beijing Noodle Company....marginal food and the absolute worst service I've detected in Vegas for years. Sorry for being out of commisssion but was dealing with back and cancer issues - all is good now.....Play on, have fun, be smart.......win! Fitz

CheckMate - I got tired of writing but can assure you that I always tip the dealers - thanks for pointing that out. I typically put the dealers on the line about every 2-3 shooters with odds - most often a $2 PL with $4-10 odds depending upon my wins; if I'm down I'll revert to $1+$2, but always something. I'll also, ask where they want a $5 chip - and go with their wish.

Nicely done, I figured you treated them good!

Whenever I call for a Dealer Choice bet, 90% they want it on hardway(s).

CheckMate - I was a little that all wanted their dealer choice bet on the Line. That said, inside numbers were hot and I always put modest odds for them!

Limão - we stayed in the AugustusTower and the rooms were totally updated. Elevators fast and easy access to coffee in the morning

Dealers stand at a craps table 8 hours a day watching people lose money
my question would be , If the hard ways are such a bad bet
why would they of all people risk their money there???

They know what they're doing. Caesars Palace dealers are some of the most experienced in the business.

All my dealer bets are either a line bet with shoes or a dealer hand in. If you let them choose, the degenerate obnoxious gambler who is now broke and dealing, usually speaks up first and bullies the other dealers into carnival bets.

Funny thing is Every trip to Vegas for me has at least 1 session there, usually more, so Caesars Dealers are a large part of my Craps history. In fact this is where I asked my Dealer why he always chose hard ways, his reply was he “likes the reward vs. risk ratios and they seem to travel in packs"
I can't really argue that opinion, because I tend to agree, even though I very seldom venture any prop bets with my own Cheques.
I'm certain it varies by individual.

Smart move is to just take the money. They aren't there to gamble. They are there to do their job. They aren't going to insult the player by saying "I'd rather just have the toke"....so, they gladly accept a wager with a smile and pick something.

My intuition tells me the super majority of experienced dealers will ask for a passline wager. Don't pass would be the best option....but they aren't going to bet against the guy tipping them. If a player is on a run, cheering crowd and they say "let's put it on the hard 8"...."hot roll"....I'm sure it happens.

The rooms are all nice and Nobu is really nice.

The thing I don't like is if you aren't Seven Star or checking in at the Nobu desk it takes forever unless you catch a really slow time.

They also charge to park unless you're Diamond or higher.

I am in complete agreement that smart thing is submarine the toke, if they go on the line, it's a disatvantage risk for an even money reward. If they choose hardways they are at more of a disatvantage, but the upside has much greater value if even 1 hits, 2 or more hits its gravy time.

I'm sure. No question. If I was going to pick a higher paying wager as a dealer...I would choose the hardway as well. I'm not taking a prop bet.

    JH,

I personally only go onto the hardways when I am UP significantly, and have at least Double the wager on the corresponding Easy(s) that way I'm Never disappointed to see the number I'm shooting for!
