my wife and me never go to a casino for a promotion, but if we are going to AC for example, we can get free rooms in trop or ceasars, we will usually choose the one that is offering us more promotional crap, whether free food, gifts, free play, whatever....why not?
if there are big promotions for slot play, its well worth it for my wife if we are going anyway.
I really don't think Ive ever had much promotional stuff for table games, besides some free or match play.

I don't know how it works out there in the desert.

To me, promotions are part of the "game"! I receive approx. $200 a month in promotional stuff, plus free meals, and rooms if I want, which I don't use here, it's only 15 minutes to the casino.

The casinos here in San Diego county are very competitive, and I think the comps are more than generous.

I do go out to the casino for certain promotions, they will have VIP card parties once in a while, food, cash, and prizes.

Promotions do not rule my play, but I certainly am not going to turn them down!

I like my little rv for sleeping in and sometimes I will stay at a casino because they are safer than my other choices at the time, and the entertainment suitable. It also allows me to be there to play the tables when I choose, and take breaks, I hate rented rooms. I have stayed in way to many of them already. Casino's or hotels will change sheets, but seldom the bedspread. I have seen some profane things left in rooms, and I am bacteria conscious. I guess I have went to too many "pathogens" classes? : ) I will and have tipped housekeeping for extra clean rooms.

My point being. I rv'd a few times in Laughlin and noticed one guy there a few times in his motorhome and after me arriving about 3 am one morning, we chatted, after sun up. He had a typical story of losing all his shit to an ex and now having "wheel estate" versus real estate. We spoke of players cards and prompts by the local casinos, and he told me he had been living in his rv for a while, and the benefits he was getting from the casino's.
BTW this is from us PO people's POV, just saying.
Anyway Liman or anyone, trying to AP some comps. This guy told me of others working the circuit and, he had bought a comped room from another guy, with too many comps, and it included a show with a good band, a better than a cheap room, and a good meal. He thought it a bargain for a hundred bucks?
Just a thought. I know of another guy who will give extra buffet tickets to needy people, not panhandlers, just folks who genuinely appreciate a good warm meal.
We all look at comps through our bankroll lenses. From my perspective being a strictly red chip player, casinos don't love me like they should.

Ive been on buffet lines and people next to us say, hey, we have 2 buy one get one free, we are only using one, and hand it to us, or if they need ID, we just pay after they present it to cashier. Nice people.

    Liman,
One of the kindest gestures I've ever experienced?

I'm checking in at the Casino Hotel and they inform me that room rate was $125, I'm wondering why because I'd been getting it for $84.

There's a lady standing next to me and she says, "may he use this extra coupon that have since I'm only allowed to use one?"

Wallah and I get a room for $69.

Offered to buy her dinner or drinks as a thank you, however she declined.

Im not sure how legal it is, checking in to a room to let someone else use it, so I wont go into it, but we always get comped rooms and often both take a separate room. nuf said about that.

Use the bed spreads to walk on in your socks. Better then the filthy carpets. In the morning it's towels till I get dressed to walk on. Stayed in a brand new Marriot on Marathon key one time. Best room I ever had. Problem was who wanted to stay in the room???
