Hmmm...I wonder what percentages there are in the limbless category.

"Give me your tired, Your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to be free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these the homeless, tempest tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
    Emma Lazarus,
On a plaque, at the base of the Statue of Liberty.
    What happened?

Was never a part of the original statue of liberty. Added decades later.
" the entire poem is much longer, and according to historians, speaks to the work Lazarus did to be a spokeswoman for the Jewish community and welcome Russian refugees in the 1880s."
Privileged upper class female New York Jewess asked to write a poem for sale to raise funds for the base of the statue.
    The New Colossus
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows worldwide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

You want to come legally? Follow the rules. You want to request asylum or refugee status? Follow the rules. We don't need more "huddled masses". We're already paying through the nose for illegals.

There is a cost for the illegals, might even be a higher cost for the legal immigrants. It's a really difficult issue to solve, and not enough are trying to solve it, and some are aiding and abetting. This will be a difficult issue to solve, I don't think a "wall" will do it, but it wouldn't hurt. Trump will be badly out-gunned after the midterms, so I don't see anything getting done on this.
