Yeah, but they only make the $100 busting the player. If a table takes a serious hit, it could be "mega-thousands" so it kind of balances out, or at least would seem to. I'd really like to know the answer. Are there any sites that have "smart people" posting on them? :)

it actuallyl was, that Thursday and Friday, but big deal.
I purposely didn't look to book on july 4th, its not like council bluffs is a hub of activity, wait a second, maybe there isn't anything out there except cornfields, and council bluffs is the only place with more than one restaurant in town..
still don't believe it. but if the hotel is that small, if we are there then, I guess its harrahs. good chance harrahs will comp us Thursday night. not sure about Friday night.

I think the 100x odds is offered primarily for the "halo" effect, even though the casino still has s slight edge on the overall bet (flat + odds). The overwhelming majority of players will *NEVER* bet anything close to 100x odds. Offering 100x odds allows the casino to promote their craps game as "the most player-friendly" with minimal risk. IMO, offering 100x odds is all about perception. From what I have observed, the vast majority of players at the craps table bet between 1x and 3x odds.

The halo effect is well documented in the graphics card business. Having the highest performing GPU raises the perception of the vendor's other graphics cards and increases their sales. NVidia has the highest performing GPU (RTX 2080ti). But this GPU is offered primarily for bragging rights, as its market share is minimal. Based upon an optional survey conducted by online gaming portal Steam, 0.15% of all players who responded to a survey used a 2080ti GPU. The slightly slower RTX 2080 GPU accounted for 0.31%. Nvidia had a 74% share overall per the Steam survey, with AMD accounting for 15.3% and Intel 10.2%. The top cards per Steam are based on the Nvidia GTX 1060 (15%) and GTX 1050ti (9.3%) GPUs, the former used in mid-tier cards and the latter in entry level cards. That's where the money is in graphics cards -- the mainstream gamers. But just in case, there is a RTX 2080ti for someone who wants it (and has the money) -- just like 100x odds at the craps table.

From time to time you see a group of people pool their money and play a higher denom slot machine than what they could justify playing alone.

You would think at least a few craps players would put their ego aside and do the same thing to take advantage of high odds. I have never witnessed it at a craps table.

There used be a guy at one of the local casinos who would ask if he could lay a few dollars as odds on other players don't bets that had no odds or didn't have max odds. I haven't seen that happen for quite a while either.

mssthis, when I get out west , we can do exactly that. Im all for it, Ive done it with friends. 5 dollars flat, start with 100 odds. Id normally go 50 odds to start.
after two hits without a loss, press the odds another 25 or so. better yet, find a 3 dollar table.
one pass line one come bet.
each put in 550, 2 stacks greens, one stack reds. worth a shot.
no more than a 5 dollar table is needed, if one can be found.

Since, according to DeMango, Louisiana and Mississippi casinos are opening Monday and Thursday, one must conclude it is safe to interact with fellow gamblers in either of these states.

Aside from the doomsdayer baron showing, this still has a better than 1% chance of happening.

Can't say that I have missed play, but I've been over my all the time play for 2 or 3 years now. Still, you have to play on occasion.

I've got a place about 80 miles from Biloxi, so I'm a lock to be there if it "goes down". As for doomsayers, well, some with seemingly more insight have been conspicuously silent, on certain medical issues, so, my assumption would be that they don't want to be the doomsayer. As for the safety of interacting with other gamblers, you hold a degree, that should offer you better insight than most, so, you tell us, how safe WOULD it be?

My post above is dripping with sarcasm. Especially the first paragraph - the politicians know less about "safety" than people living on the street. (No offense to Eustace).

I did a few emergency extractions over the past 1 1/2 months, and just had my first normal work day yesterday, if you call normal only half the patient load due to state hygienists association refusal to go back to work.

Full AC but sweating my ass off using all of the required "safety" gear.

I just got back from supermarket and I was getting something from service counter
The manager knows me well I'm always ordering cases of sugar free something
I asked her how many employees quit or got sick the past 3 months
    None
One cashier moved with her parents out of state but not one person got ill
I found that almost too good to be true

I haven't been to the dentist since last august? Im due, but I don't think they are taking anything but emergencies right now.

my hygienist must have known something.....she always had everything wrapped in blue plastic, any surface she touched, and she peeled and rewrapped it all after each patient. she always wore gloves and a full face shield, with a paper mask underneath, and under the face shield, she always had on safety glasses, the kind that wrap around , similar to what I wear when I turn something on lathe. if she answered a phone while working on me, she would throw out her gloves and put new ones on.
my dentist semi retired and his son took over the practice, and since his son took over, I notice everyone in the office started wearing face shields, even the nurse taking xrays, its like the son mandated full safety equipment.
its gotta be a huge expense now for doctors and dentists to constantly supply all employees with all this shit. but necessary.
