Today I watched a guy bet the Don’t Come for $400. The shooter rolled an 8 and the dealer moved the DC to the 8. The DC player immediately called off the DC bet. I was tempted to give him a “hint” that the better play would be to place bet the 8 for $400 for a no lose and possibly a win situation. But it was a full table and I did not want to embarrass him by giving unasked for advice………..What would you have done?

See if he would give me the bet if I gave him 400.

He could have simply called "No action" but you're correct, never turn them off. Simply place the same number for similar amount and collect from both sides of the coin.
