Hi everybody. I just arrived here in Las Vegas. Its my birthday.. Well, yesterday was my birthday! (6-19).. I got in around 7pm yesterday. The plane was 2 hours late, but it was a safe trip. Feels good to be back in Vegas. Got myself two separate 3 and 4 night comped stays lined up back to back with two different Caesar's Properties here in Vegas. The only thing is that ''48 hour waiting period rule'' they have in between each comped stay. So I figure in the mean time I might use one of the offers from the M-Life Properties for the 48 hour wait. When I got here I hit all the casinos I could before midnight to get all the Birthday comps I could! I only had 4 and a half hours to do it.. Started with Hooters, Tropicana, Luxor, MGM.. worked my way north up the strip. When I got to Harrahs it was 11pm. I stopped, snaked thru Casino Royale out the other end and ran up the escalator to Denny's restaurant just in time before midnight. At Denny's they gave me a free Grand Slam breakfast for my birthday. I was starving. Ummmm. That hit the spot. In all I received about $100 worth of birthday comps from all the different properties. And I didn't even cover half of them. Next year I'll plan to be here a couple days ahead of my birthday to have more time. Anybody out there have any good stories of getting free play on your birthday???

Have fun. You've arrived on the hottest day of the year...

Should be around 112 on the strip today. If not a record, close.

    Good luck on the tables.

Try assembling a pontoon bridge in Death Valley...any time of year. "Now if we were actually on water we could easily float these two sections together, but since we are on sand, you 200 guys take that side, ... ." Fond memories of Fort Irwin, those are.

Have fun on your birthday, maybe go hang out downtown at the nugget around 11:30 or so, maybe you can find a craps table
    and something else free.

You can go for a walk and get a card from every casino you have never played at and get some free play and a free buffet.

many many moons ago, when I played tennis when I was much lighter, we went to vegas during summer months.
The day we landed, it was 116 and 90% humidity, a rare day.
when they opened the plane door(disembarked on the tarmac back then), the air hit us and it was hard to catch ones breath.
    instant sweat, everyone.

I asked the concierge if I could rent a ball machine on the tennis court to hit balls, he laughed at me. He told me maybe I want to think about that for a few minutes.
We also drove out into the desert that week but I got scared when our throats got parched and the cars temp gauge was going up and up.

No he doesn't. I've been there, and when it hits about 105 your tryin to get out of it, no matter who you are. Nobody goes out in the sun when it's 112, not for long. LV, is a miserably hot place, in the summer, even without humidity.

When I go to Vegas, actually anywhere, I always rent a convertible......I remember going down Las Vegas Blvd and the temp screen at one of the casino properties ( Circus circus ? ) reading109 ....of course I had the top down and the ac going full blast..It does get hot there.....I remember my baseball cap blowing off my head and landing in the middle of the road....I had to have my lucky hat....I had it made special....in the front I had written,..."Show me the money".....white hat purple letters.....I stopped the car, got out and retrieved my hat......much horn blowing.....I still have my hat.

Cmon man. It’s a beautiful day. Look at that sky. Bluer than blue. You want to be squirreled away indoors?

Yep. I used to do the same on my visits to Vegas. Yes, it’s hot during the day...but the top down, about 1am, still 95 degrees, driving down the strip. Lotta fun.

I’ve done the Florida humidity in the summer many times. Give me 105 in Vegas and dry vs. 85 in Florida and 100% humidity.

The worst heat I’ve experienced was not here. Key West...summer, about 11 years ago. Felt like you were carrying a cement truck and couldn’t breath. Humidity was the killer.

122 in Death Valley isn’t for the faint hearted either. It’s not called Furnace Creek for fun.

nothing on earth beat the weather we had this past October in Nevada.laughlin and vegas.

82-88 each day at warmest, no humidity, dew points below 20, a bit cool at night, 65 or so, but never put on long sleeves

it felt good to be in the sun......the problem was a lot of the hotels only opened the pools on weekends.

those lounges in the pool are a nice touch

Yes, with a very large A.C. blowing on me. :D I've survived about ten or eleven LV summers, I know exactly what you're dealing with.
