    Hello everyone!
A big hello from the Pacific Northwest! :)
I posted earlier today but alas, something is going wrong with 'server errors' and I cannot submit replies directly to the thread, so thank you Onautopilot and von duck for replying, I just can't reply back except on private conversation for some reason!

Sorry for any confusion over the pic, that's 'Patsy' from the British sit-com "Absolutely Fabulous", a two-legged Stoli-swilling filthy-mouthed swearing party animal who I think looks 'faaaabulous' in any casino at the craps table...or any craps forum. My attempt at humor...

So, as I go deeper into middle age I'm looking for new skills and hobbies - I used to surf big waves (that ain't happenin' now), ditto anything else requiring the stamina of an 18 yo. I now go for sports that require similar thinking to surfing - timing/angles/speed/distance/incoming tide-outgoing tide/wind direction etc and I like to practice at the range with my 9mm because of some of those same skill sets required. And now I've discovered that Craps actually requires a bit of the same but applied mathematically ...okay...it's a stretch, but it's got the adrenaline pump thing going and the end goal is much like surfing or target practice. Surfing you want to catch the wave and carve a nice bottom turn without wiping out somewhere along the way, and at the range you want to better your draw speed and accuracy at the same time. Breathing, tension, accuracy, hitting your mark - similar to craps imo except you're now betting with or against others as well as trying to bring out your best assessment of the game being played compiled with knowledge of betting strategies. Me Likes It!

Anyhow....sorry I can't reply to posts, have no idea what is going on but did email the webmaster the server error...anyone wanting to chat just send a convo to my name I guess. Am sorry I can't thank you all publicly, except here, who replied to my Newb thread...You all sound like you have a lot of fun and put some serious thought into your strategies. Oh! And did I say I also like to bet the horses!!!? Yessirreee! Won me a nice 5 boxed superfecta with my boy Lookin at Lee in the last Derby mix, I knew he'd give them all a run for the money. Horses and Dice go hand in hand! If I get half as crazy about Craps as I am about horses, this could get interesting!!! Give me your best advice! I'm game! :D

Hi from the Upper North East. Location doesn't mean all that much. I do like your posts as I read them. I'm not much at comp. ability but I am a sucker for craps!!! Wish you much luck and patience. The weather here has kept me home lately but plan on some local trips to my home casino in Oxford County, Maine called Oxford Casino on rte 26. Keep us informed if you can.

Hi there! Yes, we share the same unfortunate 'lingering Winter' weather while everyone else is out in shorts! Oh trust me, I'll keep everyone posted of my learning curve ahahahah! Lately have been banging away at the simulators trying to drill everything into my head. Small lightbulbs keep going off as I tinker with the 'magic' and what it can produce. I'm sitting here in the middle of Derby fever and wondering who I have to blame for my craps fever coming on at the same time...the skill level required is so much more interesting than the monkey jabbing a finger at a slot machine stupor. I wish you the best of luck on your next outing!!

Uh-oh...:) why do I get the feeling this is a very loved joke by some on this forum. For now I'll be demure and say that I DO find SOME goats very cute - especially those miniature ones.
    :)

I'll pass on this one. Don't know and don't care. Too old for these games I think!

And back at ya -- note my location to the left -- though I suspect I am actually southeast of you. I also see you have overcome your replying difficulties. Don't feel like The Lone Rangerette; we're all getting a little bored with the server errors. About the only cure I have discovered is persistence, which does get rewarded...well, almost always. When Murphy's Law rules try saving what you're trying to post by (in Windows)
    1. Ctrl-A with the cursor in the posting area. This will highlight all text there.
    2. Ctrl-C. This will copy all highlighted text to the clipboard.
    3. Open Notepad.
    4. Ctrl-V. This will paste the clipboard into Notepad.
This should allow you to save your words of wisdom, wit, and whimsy for when the server is in a serving mood.

As luck would have it I was given the opportunity to test the above method while typing this reply -- perhaps we should label it Post Trammeling Server Disorder? -- and can vouch for its effectiveness. I also was reminded that sometimes emojis seem to bring on the PTSD, and should that be the case copying the Notepad back to the posting area, which replaces the emojis with their emoticon equivalents, cures the disease. Unfortunately, any special formatting (e.g. the bold lettering and ordered list above) is lost in the translation and must be redone.
Thar be gold in these here hills, but this forum has a bit of a learning curve. Barney is a prime example. (My theory is that it escaped from an equivalent of The Men's Warehouse in another dimension.) It has some weird ideas about proper casino attire. IMHO, however, you should soon be able to distinguish those who post wheat from those who post chaff.

No one is ever too old to have some fun playing word games...life's too short to not take a chance for a laugh or two :)

I probably should have clarified the Barney goat reference in case you have not encountered it already. Barney is a sidekick of Lone Irish Digit; he likes to wear skunk hats and goat coats while shooting craps...and probably anything else for that matter.

Oooooooh...I see I see...okay. Is this a similar strategy like some Russians are fond of doing? The old 'heavy garlic on the breath' trick?
Keep that 'safe space' around himself? I'm new here, so....
