    Hi,

    I'm Titleistguy, avid golfer.

I spend my hours at the craps table at the local Greektown Casino, (soon to be rebranded as Jack). I'm typically found at the crapless table in the high limit area, placing the extreme outside.

The extreme out used to be an awesome bet, from a house edge standpoint, b/c Greektown never charged vig up front -- until recently. :(

Those 5 dollar upfront 100 dollar action bets add up quickly. With that said, my prefered way to play the game is as follows.

For crapless, buying the horn numbers, collecting the first hit, pressing in pairs after that. (if 3 hits, press 3 and 11, if 2 hits, pressing 2 and 12). If you catch a hand with a couple yo's an ace duece or two, and some hi-low...you can really clean up. You can also go half a dozen shooters and not see any horn. When the vig was not an upfront charge, you were usually just at the whim of the dice, and not getting to crushed by the house edge. Now its different. To ride out the possible half dozen shooters w/o a horn number, I usually buy in at 2,000. I don't make passline bets unless I'm shooting, and while I'm not a DI believer per se, I do believe in a rythm and timing element to smooth rolling. I bring my golf mentality to the dice table when shooting, you could set a watch to the time I set the dice, pick them up, and lob towards the backwall as consistently and softly as possible. I'm a lefty, and shoot from stick right.

If I can't get a quarter crapless game, I'll go and play the don'ts at a $15 table. If the table starts to heat up, I'll limp in with a come bet or two, and if the hand turns into something special, I'll be ready to collect with the come bets up and workng. For example, I'll make a 50 Don't pass line bet, and on the next shot, (if the table seems choppy to warm), I'll make a 15 come with a 30 odds. Sure this usually ends up in a wash, and at times I lose both, (by a quick point, and subsequent PSO). However, there are times when the shooter does go off on a nice 20-25 roll hand, and I'm able to get on board. If the first come bet is made, then I place the number for 30, and make a second come bet and if the second come bet is made I place the number, and at that point, make no more come bets, and start collecting and pressing the place bets and spreadnig out as I see fit.

I've thrown the Greektown fire bet at 6 points myself 2 times in the past 2 years. At 5 points 6 times in the same time frame. And 4,3 points many times. I've had many shots over 5 or 6 points made, but usually with a repeater or two. And one notable shot of 8 passes, having 4 sixes, 3 eights, and a five.

I will play at MGM during the summer and try and qualify for the golden shooter tourney, otherwise I'm not a MGM fan. Motorcity is ok for their fire bet, and if you remember to turn off your hard ways on the come out.

Looking forward to getting involved in the forum, and if anyone wants to maybe shoot together sometime, let me know.

Have you ever played in Traverse City? I went on a monster roll there so I have fond memories of that casino. I have heard that the Detroit casinos are pretty pricey.
