IIRC LV hotels did the same thing over New Year's at the turn of the millennium, but backed off when demand was underwhelming. One report I read wondered if those who booked their room at the price peak got their rate reduced.

Another craps AP bites the dust.

This paragraph is worth taking note of. I know a few people who were 86'd from casinos and all but one was because of this. The outlier was barred for having his buddy get him a drink after the casino cut him off.

"The affidavit said Betremariam and his friend had been flagged by casino dealers and staff as “shot takers,” often trying to “scam the casino out of money by complaints or purposeful game errors.”"

    This is Barney

That personage looks very familiar. Isn't he the one who gets tossed out of casino for practicing "helicopters toss" and getting abusive when suit personage told him he must stop doey/don't practice and bets some monies?

I had him pegged as the one who gets tossed out of casinos for his inappropriate use of the restroom facilities. Come to think of it, though, that one has an identical twin, so both of us may be right.

$1,000 per night at Hooters? Gotta be kidding. If someone does pay and it's not on a corporate account (even that would raise eyebrows)....probably be 10-12 people in the room sharing the cost. Good luck staying there.

I do wonder how many scams are being pulled off or attempted on a daily basis in the Casinos here. I'm sure it's a lot. Go down to the Bowery and you'll find a bunch of them slow playing a slot or faking it...and pilfering a bunch of Jamesons over ice.

I've heard chatter that some people pick up found "Chairman" player cards to use themselves. The "unwritten" edict from the top for all employees is that when you are presented with a Chairman card...the answer is "yes".

Every casino is different but I would suspect they would want id if they didn't recognize the person carrying the card. I made Platinum last trip. Still a ways to go to get chairman.

One of the local casinos here has their cards set up with a chip to get into the VIP lounge. I keep that one in my wallet because it takes a week to get a new one if I lose it or leave it in a machine. I only did that one time before I learned.

The VIP lounge here used to be real good with the selection of items. A few of the scammers filled their bags with the drinks, candy bars etc and were letting their friends use their card to get in.

Now the selection sucks. Another case where everyone gets penalized because of a few bad apples.

They are supposed to check. Hostesses at the Cafe couldn't be bothered. People were just flashing the card to them on the priority seating line. Could have been anyone's card.

You are one more step up to the President Card. Then Chairman. Those 2 levels get a bit more swag. Priority seating or priority line at everything.

    Station Casinos.

Many CET properties don't check either unless you're actually buying something and using your card points to pay for it.

I don't think its a scam to get free rooms under your name and give them out to your friends/family.

I've done that myself. No issue. Reduced rate as well. The Station restaurants were having issues with priority seating in that people either found or plucked a Chairman Card and were "jumping the line" by flashing it. In a perfect world, they would check to make sure it was the actual cardholder.

Station also got a lot of complaints from people who had their status downgraded over time...but still wanted the benefit of the higher tier card they had in their possession. "I'm sorry Mr. Jones, the computer says your play has been downgraded from President to Gold....back of the line, please".

    "What"!!!??.....LOL

Station loves to play tier games with their customers. There are 5. This line for this guy, that line for that guy. I guess they all do it. "Equality of person" goes out the door when you enter a casino. Of course there is a cost for that.....

Last time someone said to her husband...."that line is so much shorter"....I just said, "I wouldn't worry, that line just means they've lost a lot more money than you have". She chuckled.

It is. :) If you don't think so, just tell them to put it in the other persons name. Let us know how it goes.
