dude you cant be serious ? Lmao....if anyone thinks there is a way to win at craps in the long run.....to say they are delussional would be an understament.......if you wanna come here to learn the basics, the odds, the house edge on various bets thats great....if you think you can beat a game that has a bulit in house edge on each and every bet there is you need to come back to reality.

The Only games that can earn you a living are Poker, black jack and sports betting period ! and i might add the people that can do that ? you could fit em into a school bus.
I knew a guy who earned a VERY modest living betteing horse racing and he's often sit there for 2 or 3 hours without making a bet.

i would go onto say IMO craps is probably the most fun casino game....i dont like blackjack for beginners because if you get behind pretty big early the game offers little odds leverage to make a come back.
The take out on other casino games often approaches the level of extortion.
Notice that in Black Jack the game offers an advantage for REAL CARD counters.....in poker and sports betting an advantage can be gained because they have something in common....You are essentially playing vs other people and NOT the House.....if your opinon is FAR Superior to theirs you would enter into the land of a positive expectorent.

ALSO common to black jack and sports betting is that the event that proceeded can and does influence the event about to happen.......ie: in craps you see no 7 for 20 straight rolls you think the 7 is due...THAT is NONSENSE the odds of the 7 on the next roll are still exactly the same 1 in 6

in sports betting and advantgae can also be gain by "Value" recieveing odds that are higher then those you should be getting....example if Mike Tyson were figthing a 15 year old kid and you only had to lay 500 to win 400 you would be getting a "major overlay"

I am testing the waters for this idea. I have played craps for 678 hours, I have documented all the numbers that have come on the table and my bets, wins and losses. Following is the report. I play 4 different bets all the time 1. $5 on passline after shooter brings a win. If I loose I wait for new winning shooter. If I win I continue with the same bet. 2. I take $6 on six one win and down for every shooter, I use Oskers Grind method for this bet. 3. I take two consecutive Dont come bets after the point is established. 4. I take $6 on 6 and 8 after four rolls are rolled by a shooter, any win I take that number down. So far on Bet1 I have won net $5.67 per hour, on the Bet 2 I have won net $5.5 per hour on bet 3 I have won net $3.37 per hour and on bet four I have won net $3.65 per hour. I have created charts of all the bets so that I can review the big picture. My total starting bets are $33 and overall wins are $18.19 per hour. My biggest loss was $220. My Bankroll per session is $330 (10 times initial bet) my loss limit is now $220. My biggest win per session was $180. So far I have won $12000 plus in this period played in One and a half year. I plan to play the same way for another 600 hours and see if the result is similar. If it is so , then I will double all my bets and hopefully make $36 per hr. That would be a living wage. Other advantage of such play is you get comps for lunch, dinners, some free play bets and some time discounted room rates. First I enjoy this challenge therefore I do this. Second this way of playing may be considered by most of the craps players as very very boaring and restrictive. But I enjoy the results.

Uhm, sounds good...alot of data there, but was this data taken in real-time or on a play site with a computer generated game?

    Was real money involved?

This was real play in casinos. I documented every roll with little note pad and real money was and is involved. I am continuing this play for next 600 hrs and see what happens. My guess is it will repeat the past

and why would you guess that? Do the dice have a memory? Wait, you are not even playing with the same dice, so even if they did, you have a different set each time.

What I think is funny about this site is everyone love to spew out statistics and say this is a game you can't beat cause statistics say etc.... blah blah etc....

Then when someone comes up with statistics they don't agree with they say "you can't use your stats cause this game is random and dice don't have a memory".

Good luck and I hope you succeed.

just try the craps game at wizzard of odds....its not an online site for money.....there you could generate hundreds of rolls in a matter of a couple of hours.
Like some other guy here said Dont quit your day job......ITS a Proven fact that you can not Consistently beat any game with a built in house edge on any bet you could make.
The only games that can truely be beaten are Black Jack (and even then only by guys with extra ordinary math and memory retention abilities).....and sports betting
I posted about that in this thread.

WHEN PEOPLE TELL ME THEY THINK THEY CAN BEAT CRAPS....ITS LIKE a guy telling me he can make money going into a bank and trading a 4 quarters for a dollar bill.
Oh and by the way they will trade you the dollar bill for 4 quarters and THREE Cents.

No one is saying you cannot beat the game...well, maybe someone is. I say you can sometimes beat the game in the short run. In the long run, the house will have the advantage. Luckily, we do not play in the long run, but in a series of short runs.

And you miss the point of statistics and randomness. The following are true statements.

Randomness exists in the toss of the dice (assuming regulartion dice tossed according to casino rules)

Statistics will prove the randomness in the long run.

In the short run, randomness could cause what appears to be non-random results. That "appearence" does not change the randomness.

Dice do not have a memory. If two regulation dice are rolled according to casino rules twenty times and each time a 12 results, the likelihood that the next result will be a twelve is 1 in 36.
As a side note, I will bet the twelve on the next roll :)

I would be interested in hearing which of these statements you disagree with and why.

You say the dice do not have a memory.

Dice may not have a memory....but they act as if they do.

If it walks like a duck and acts like a duck.....................

So, just because you can recognize a duck, can you predict which way a duck will walk and when it will quack?

Ah yes - in the long run, he will quack and waddle. The point is, it may or may not be while you there to watch him.

Thank you for agreeing with me.

Making a living off the felt? Absolutly, I have seen it first hand!

The person who taught me the game of craps made his living playing craps. He did so for over 3 years with NO other source of income. I didn't believe it either until I saw it with my own eyes. My brother in law kept telling me his father in law makes all this money at the Horseshoe playing craps, I would let it go in one ear and out the other. Finally, after hearing about it for months, I decided to ride down to Bossier City with him one Friday night, I had to see what all the hype was about. Sure enough, his father in law left that night with 40k profits. Definitly got my attention but I still wasn't convinced. I figured even a blind squirrel gets a nut from time to time. So, 2 or 3 weeks later they were going again, I tagged along. This trip he made 60k and I got interested. I then started going to the casino everytime he went and followed his lead. Whatever he bet, I bet, in lesser dollars of course. In 2010, he made (factoring winnings and losses together) $800,000 + at the casino. Now, don't get me wrong, he has had losing sessions, but not nearly as many as winning. And his betting strategy is simple. He's a DC player only, plays a progressive system up to 3 hits and bails on 6/8 and will go up to as many as 6 hits on 4,5,9,10 before bailing. He usually starts with a bankroll of 10k and isn't afraid to bet every dime of it. It's crazy the money I've seen him win. I chicken out.....just cannot make myself lay that kind of money out on a game of unknowns!

Unfortunatly I only got to play with him a handful of times. After one of our trips, he had a stroke in his sleep and he hasn't been able to play in over a year now. I sure with I would have had more chances to learn from him, he had this unusual knack for knowing when to bet big and when to bail. Alot of us say it's luck, but he just felt something nobody else did. I saw it too many times to not think that.

The reason I guess is because the charts of this system play indicate certain pattern and I feel this pattern has reapeted itself over and over in this 600plus hours of play. I charted some other plays to see the difference e.g. When I bet 5,6,8 with $5 $6 and 4$8 (for all Shooters) in this same period the chart goes up and down in large numbers Wins went as high as $1701 and down as low as -$1020. This happened many times. I did not bet real money on this play. I like to test different systems for the same rolls and see which will provide the least amount of LOSS.

Z money I like your attitude, having played craps for a long time I can say most of the people on this site are c. You can practice all you want on the wizard of odds RNG but the REAL players know there is nothing like a real streak on the table. I play the same way everytime and have seen very nice days and some not so nice, but in the end the nice days are far better, with discipline I believe craps is the only game in the casino that you can actually make some money on. With that said I have superstitions that would go against what the Wizard would say or many others for that matter. Having played well over 5000 hours of real casino craps the number one thing I hate is when a roll hits a stack of chips doesnt matter which, the pass line, the odds, the dealers chip stacks, 8 out of 10 times roughly the roll will result in a seven, for what reason I dont know but they dont tell you that here, just something you have to pick up from personal experience. For those in doubt watch carefully as the dice hit those chips and try to move yours out of the way or color up.

Believe me... I hate it when dice hit stacks of chips also. But my experience and research has shown that it's closer to roughly 1.67 out of 10 times that the roll will result in a 7.

    I see that.

    kamikaze,
I actually use a similar system except I am a lay bettor with a hedge option and yes as your father in law I tend to win while right side bettors all come and go and loose all there chips roll after roll. It does puzzle me why there are not more darkside bettors. Because other than monster rolls I never see a pass line player leave the table with any money so at what point do you stop and try a different game plan? But some never will.
