There's an open casino night in NYC tomorrow, November 11 if anyone is interested in going. The link is below. Typical open tables are Craps, Roulette, Blackjack and Poker (occasionally Mini Baccarat and novelty games like Three Card Poker as well). I think it's usually $35-$40 per ticket, and all the play is for fun. The night revolves around casino gaming, but the intent is just to have a good time and socialize if people feel like it.

There is a bar if you want to buy drinks and they say there is food, but I can't recall what kind of food it is (if it is just light snacks, sandwiches, or what).

If you're interested, please send me a PM - I might be able to get you on a list to get a significant discount on the cost of entry. :)

Oh, and I'll be there the entire time, if that wasn't already clear.

just to mention, when I went, I took the LIRR to penn station, its just a 5 minute walk, driving into manhattan tomorrow might be brutal, so the train is the way to go from anywhere outside the city or Jersey.
its a nice facility, it is wasn't for medical reasons, Id probably hop on the train with my wife and go.wait, 30s and 40s, uh oh, no old farts.

It hasn't happened yet - it's tonight. But the owner says that she's anticipating at least 50 people and it looks like she will be short either a stickperson or will close one end of the craps table. I don't believe it's going to be a problem either way, but if anyone here has ever dreamed of trying their hand at working the stick position, let me know!

As far as the age thing goes, that's not really true. I don't even know why they have that there. It might be to try and keep the early 20's away because they have a tendency to get rowdy with alcohol... and that can make the more "experienced" (read: older) crowd feel uncomfortable.

    All are welcome, really.

its a beautiful place, and with a bar and food, Im sure it will be a great event.
I crushed any thoughts of going today, washing my wifes car this morning I yanked my back out, bad, getting old sucks.(being fat doesn't help either)

Next time, maybe youll need someone to practice with the dealers one day again.

Thanks, 777. It went well... I wouldn't say that it went or didn't go well for me personally. I take part in the event, but I don't receive any kind of compensation based on the success of the event or the number of people that attend. I hope nobody here thought that I was.

It was a good crowd, and not surprisingly, there were people who were there that were outside of the stated age range. We mentioned to the event coordinator that this statement should be taken down.

I would say that most of the people who approached the craps table did not really know how to play, so there was a lot of teaching involved, but I wouldn't say that it held the game up too much.

Sounds like a fun event for the gambler in all of us.

    Kaysirtap,

Concerning this teaching of the game of craps , who wrote the instruction manual, and is a copy available?

Has anyone determined how the player favored for one roll at come out can keep this advantage throughout the remainder of the hand?
