It recently went thru a $600 million renovation after Station Casinos bought it. I hadn't been there in years so I can't remember what it was like before...other than it had a green motif and palms all over the place.

All new restaurants and nightclubs....looked pretty nice.

I stopped in and took a few pics today. One craps table open....$10. One player. Did not see a bubble craps machine but I could have missed it. The Jaws bar was pretty cool.

    James Hall pre-post reply:

Caught you trying to pull another fast one over on us. Parker looked at the meta data from your Palms photos and it shows they were taken in 2007. Another twisted post trying to get us to believe you live in Las Vegas instead of New Jersey.

They need to reduce mins to 5 dollars idmthey want to compete so close to strip casinos,
When I checked out their prices for rooms last oct they weren't anything special

Thanks for the photos, TDVegas. Looks quite different from what I remember. I stopped by Palms Casino a handful of times years ago when I stayed at Rio. It's relatively inconvenient to get to compared with going to another casino on the Strip. There was definitely eye candy years ago.

I recall the famous host Steve Cyr had been hired as an exclusive rep. for the Palms. This information about a year old. Is he still there? and helping black chip players get the comps they deserve? (prior he was strictly a pink chip up rep/host)Thanks.

I used to go to the Palms but they have so few decent games that I've only ventured there once in the past year to check out the renovations. You might google him or check their web site.

Few "decent" games? OK, so what do they have, that's not so "decent"? :) Maybe I'll lower my standards. :D

Most of their Blackjack games were 6/5 and the largest place or lay bet you could make on the bubble was $14. per number.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

Craps tables are ok but being along the main isle is a distraction.

Your right, those are NOT decent games, nobody should ever play 6/5 blackjack. $14 place or lay bets on the bubble? Why? Place on outside numbers, is pretty good for the house. What are the place/lay limits at the tables? What are the line bet limits, at the bubble?

I didn't like the guy's attitude so won't pursue him to be my "host". About 20 years ago I discovered it was better to check in wherever and pay your way/room. If I have an extended session I will ask for a comp for the coffee shop or buffet or even the steakhouse if playing black. I find the pressure applied by hosts and "junket reps" to be annoying and distracts from my mission, which is to win. I don't want to owe them anything play wise or otherwise for that matter.

We get out and take trips once in a while unlike the practice table expert, similar to a back seat driver:)

The $14 needs clarification. That's the max bet per number. I believe $1 is the min. Can't remember the pass line max bet but it was real low also , $40 or something like that. The bubble was busy the day we were there, had to wait for a seat on a late morning.

Pretty hard to have a wow wacker when $14 is the most you can bet on a number.

Variance is the friend of the underdog but the enemy of the favorite. I have seen $50 lids (with a $3 min and no half-dollars) at wide spots in the road, but $14 seems nothing short of paranoid.

I'm sure that there is a very "logical" explanation, why a casino would let you place, maybe say, $500 bets on the table, but only $14 on the very same bets on the bubble. TD will tell you straight-up, that the bets will yield the same results, so what could be the explanation? Could it be that "heaven forbid" TD is, at best, wrong? No way! It must be a "glitch" or something. :)

I never felt as if I owed them
    Anything
On the contrary they owed me for choosing their casino
I never let the fact that they were comping me weigh in on my gambling
If they didn't like my action they could simply say no room for you and I'd move on
Can't think like we owe them anything it's their privilege we choose to gamble in their house
    They owe us

That's always been my attitude and I've lost many Casino hosts when things were exactly what I wanted

I still insist on upgrades whenever I know I have action that has been clocked

In mtl, on the bubble, you can bet 1$-48k$ place.
But 6&8 is 1,02 to place. Rip off lol, unless you buy & slide bet down to place.

That's about $14 US at the current exchange rate. ;)

Kidding aside, what's going on with the Loonie? I've been buying a lot of inventory from Canada the past few months because of the arbitrage opportunities.
