Four Queens is the king (sorry, bad pun intended) of issuing "special" chips for any & all occasions. That casino has come out with some of my favorite chips I have collected. I like the $2.50 chip you have from Four Queens. Hang on to it. Hard Rock Las Vegas is another casino that issues quite a few "special" chips. You're definitely in the right city for collecting casino checks.

I have $1 chips/tokens from @400 casinos / card rooms. A while back OAP sent me a few chips he had collected over the years, which was very nice of him. I generally only collect chips in use since 2000. Occasionally I'll acquire a chip from a casino that was around when the riverboat casino era began (@1991), as many of the riverboats changed ownership / names after opening.

It is NOT the "complexity", nor the lack of a progressive jackpot, that keeps people away. They have a much better reason to avoid this game, and from what I can see, they ARE avoiding it. I think if they gave away a free lollipops, with a $100 buy-in, they would attract a higher grade of players. :)

I've always liked the shiny feel over the hard clay type chip. Las Vegas Club used to have very nice looking shiny chips as well. I should have gotten one before they closed shop. I know of several more that use that style.

    400....ok, I'm 395 behind. Note to self...catch up.:)

I also liked the Hard Rock chips in Vegas as well.

    Pretty cool, random....

Are they sitting in a box or on display?

Hi Random: If you want this old Meskwaki chip let me know and I'll send it to you. Unfortunately they notched it as pictured. If you want a current chip we'll probably be there Monday night. Wife wants her bingo fix and I want to check out the new Interblock machine they put in. It's one of the new one player bubbles. I played one in Rhythm City Bettendorf, last winter and liked it. craps 001.JPG craps 002.JPG

Thanks for the offer, Mssthis1 -- much appreciated. I already have a chip from Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel. After our recent trip out west, as far as current casinos in Iowa, I'm only missing chips from Wild Rose (both Emmetsburg & Jefferson) and one from Casino Queen (name change in 2016 after sale of former Lady Luck). Not too bad considering Iowa is a decent sized state (26th in square miles) and there are a lot of casinos spread out all over.

Most of my chips are stored in plastic containers to reduce exposure to sunlight / moisture. I have a framed display with 63 $1 Las Vegas area casino chips hanging in the living room. It is quite the conversation starter, lol. I think the next one will be for Midwest casinos...if I can find the time and motivation.
