any 7, C&E, hard 8s, ect... can those bets be made at any time? On the come out roll, before a point is established? Also do I have to make a passline bet in order to make these bets like the field? Thanks.

You can make any of those bets at any time, and you do not need a pass line bet to make any of them.

Disclaimer: Some casinos might have a cumulative minimum bet amount, and may not let you just bet a $1 on prop bets alone. But I don't see why not, since they are very high HA bets. :)

Most any casino will probably let you make just prop bets under the table minimum. But there are the exceptions, and it is the casino rule, not a dealer decision.

Prop bets rules and limits can change at the same casino by shift ... See it happen all the time in Vegas .... In Mississippi, by state law, they must give you 15 minute notice before they change table rules

In my experience you can make a proposition bet at any time. OK, technically it has to be booked explicitly by one of the dealers, so you might not get action on such a bet if you call it while the dice are in the air.

Most prop bets are one-roll bets, the exception being the "all day" hardways. In some houses those bets are by default "off" on Pass Line comeout rolls, so you can have a bet but not have a bet (i.e. neither win nor lose) unless you call them "on" on those rolls.

My position is straight away. Sometimes I'll slip the dealer chips and tell him the prop bet I want.

All prop bets are one roll bets except hardway.

Hardways work on comeout in the west...off in the east.

TDVegas prepost, with his usual lack of comprehension:

Propositions are illegal in Las Vegas, but legal in Pahrump.

I've been to Pahrump and seen enough. While legal...I don't recommend propositions.
