    Just returned from 2 days in AC - pretty much broke even. My question - when, and how often, do you change your set-up? The reason I ask: you know that sooner or later that dreaded 7 is coming. I've been sticking with the same set-up but I'm wondering if after x number of rolls I should switch. Thanks!

    The last time I was in AC, I left pretty much broke too. Who is "even"? :)

    If your asking should you change your dice preset after a few tosses then this question has been much debated on this forum and there are many points of view;

    1. Dice tossing in craps is a random event so it really doesn't matter what your starting preset is as advocated to some extent by OAP, Koko, and TedVegas....

    2. If you are not getting the desired outcome and your toss appears to be consistent why not change your preset to correlate to the outcomes your getting as advocated by Twodicebilly (aka dicesetter, gordon).

    3. If you like your tossing form but like most mortals are unable to snipe numbers consistently with your preset then change to a set close to what the stick gives you. Just be sure this preset is a Group 2 set. This position is what the LID (and probably James Hall) does but is main reason he bets across quite frequently.

    4. If you are a most greatest DI the use of a Group 2 preset is always recommended over a Group 1 by the LID, except on the comeout roll, unless you follow the tenants of GTC which seem to do things in a strange manner.

    5. Use the preset that best matches your possible shooting quirks. However, hopefully your quirk remains constant over time. This approach is advocated somewhat by Koko, Tabletop, and Linaway. However, the LID is somewhat skeptical of this approach since if it was a proven fact Barney would by far be the best Dice Controller in the USA.

    Analysis by supper computer show the most likely and common answer to the perplexing question for most craps players is probably number one however, if that is the case then settingcanthurt.

    If after x number of rolls with no 7....you are wondering if you should switch sets??

    I admit it....I don't get it.

    I'll try and explain.....I'm not going to state that I can control the dice, but I do use different sets and try to limit the 7's. I've never gone more than 15 or so rolls (and believe me, I'm very happy when that happens). I usually stick with one set until I 7 out. So, my question is, when I'm nearing that 15 roll mark, do I switch sets before I 7 out? I always struggle with "stay with what's working" vs. "time for a change." I know there's no right or wrong, just curious what people do.

    Thanks

    Ok, here's how it works. Imagine that you have the mind of a "DI" guy (take your pick) now, is it starting to make sense? I thought so. :)

    TDVegas prepost reply: anybody that rolls 6 times without a 7, is obviously cheating, some how, and should be incarcerated.

    I misread his posts, after reading your comment this is the perfect time to correct myself. No he shouldn't switch the set if he notices a no 7 showing after an x amount of rolls, which can lead to a monster roll. He shouldn't change anything, I get it.
