Just received word that OnAutopilot (OAP, JB) passed away.

A fine man. Navy veteran and all around great guy.

Without getting into too many specifics, he had been fighting a heroic battle and sadly it took a turn for the worse a couple months ago.

Many thanks goes out to random roller and yacraps for getting involved and trying to do whatever we could to keep apprised of JB’s health situation.

I didn't have the good fortune of meeting OAP. Even so, it was apparent from his posts on this forum (public & PM) he really enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He also graciously shared with others what he had learned along the way.

2018 has been tough on our little community. But at least now OAP will get to shoot dice with his buddy Tom P (betwthelines).

    Rest in peace, my friend.

Very sad news, indeed. I always enjoyed his posts.

He seemed to have wrestled more enjoyment than most in his time on this planet. Kudos for that. He seemed to have few regrets.

Wow! This has come as a shock to me! I am also one that never met him, but after reading his many posts, & his level headed approach towards Craps & life.....I feel like I DID shake his hand. Rest in peace OAP.

I will miss not only his philosophy of gambling but also his philosophy of life.

All credit goes to random roller for making the phone calls and finding out what was happening. I had been aware of his illness about 18+ months ago. I'm not sure if anyone else was aware at that time. He was going thru some intense treatments and things seemed to be progressing ok.

It wasn't until about 2 months ago that he texted me he was in the hospital for a surgical procedure. The results weren't what was hoped for. It was at that point that we kind of knew it was a bad situation. It was myself, random and yacraps that were holding out hope....as others.

I had contacted him a couple times but never got thru over the past 6 weeks. He may have shut down or simply not been able to respond.

He died on July 5 as per random roller.

First the tough Craps player. Then the REALLY tough Craps player.

I can’t take much more of this. Who’s next?

I’ll be in mourning for some time.

But I saw OAP at the Craps table today and he was making a HAUL!

I’m so bummed. This is the worst of bummers....

It is sad. Hopefully it also helps put things in perspective. We (figuratively, not necessarily you and I) might have opposing viewpoints on certain aspects of craps, but in the end any such differences are completely insignificant when compared with the truly important and meaningful things in life.

A voice of reason in the short bus wilderness we have here. Just a great loss all around.

I hope that Dave is okay. Sure, we bullshit around, & tease one another, but it's all in fun. We haven't heard from Dave in a while. Hopefully he's just busy with the job, or maybe he's busy cleaning out the Casino Vaults with the Skipping Stone toss.

When I looked at post #9 in this thread -- which is from Dave G -- I didn't see any obvious typos. That really has me concerned, lol. Just kidding, Dave. I hope you are well, as you have been relatively quiet of late.
