I confess! I'm a total Craps Noob... and as they say a fool and his money are soon parted... On the other hand if this is my only bad craps gaming investment I'm probably in good shape... I could also have lost a more money actually gambling with this material. But I'd like to hear your opinion.

So I saw the following YouTube and It seemed to "sound" ok... and I ordered

Al Kaufman's "Pass no Pass System"

I put down my $97 dollars and all I received was the MP4 video file to the original publicly postedYouTube.

No charts, manual, or any other information other than the Youtube.

When I called to complain Al Kaufman started "upsell" me a $500 private class. During our conversation he admitted he was "retired" and living in florida and no longer gambling.

So what's the verdict should I place a complaint through Paypal and demand a refund?

Also just out of curiosity I'd love to hear a consensus about Al's so-called "Pass no Pass System"?

    Opinions?

    Thanks in advance,

    TG

As for the "system", it's an 8 step Martingale. You can walk between the rain drops without getting wet for just so long!

I see nothing wrong with the Martingale, I often use a very conservative type of negative progression myself on occasion.

But just as any other "system", it has its weakness, in this case, it is the occasional LARGE loss. A lot of small wins is nice, but believe me, you will hit the wall eventually, and sometimes sooner than latter.

I have noticed that many of the"Experts" say set a limit of $50-$100 wins or one hour and get out! whichever happens first.

As there is some kind of Bell Curve at play, so at a certain moment the losses outstrip the wins the longer you stay at the table betting...

So would a good practical strategy be to set money/time limits and goals, and then STOP, take a break and then go to another table, casino, etc...and start all over again...

Several of the Las Vegas experts more or less say the same thing whatever strategy or method they use... Stay less than an hour and as soon as you have won your $50-$100-whatever, get out and move around to other casinos...etc...

My problem is where I am located Casinos are few and far in between... so I guess I'm taking beaks, switching tables will be the best that I can do

My observation with a Martingale is to only go down one-two levels before your losses become irretrievable...(especially with a small bank-roll.) and then STOP. Go back to the small bets and build back up...

I've noticed some other phenomenon with the Martingale strategy that most "Experts" have missed....

Lot of interesting craps theory's out there that make you wonder...you have to be careful.

    TG,

It's sounds like you've never played craps? If that's the case, I suggest this article as a start. This website has a good series of videos on craps.

Always a fan of win and loss limits.
I prefer money limits. Time limits have no setting for money. If it goes really south from the getgo...do you just continue to play until the timer goes off?
Moving to another casino or table is just a continuation of your play. You took a physical break....it really has no bearing on anything else as far as game play.
That might be a good thing.

Lesson learned... Hindsight being 20/20... I shoulda, coulda, woulda...The irony is that I could have ordered lot's of really good Craps books from Amazon ALL for under $97. When I get my refund, that's what I'll do.

The up side is this situation caused me to dig deeper and seek out this and other forums and THAT's been really helpful...

We ALL make mistakes, question is, can we lean from them...lol

    Thanks for all the comments!

Hey, we all pay a price for learning, it's just a matter of what or how much. Most of the good information on craps can be found for free on the internet if you look for it. But there is also a lot of "crap" out there too! It takes some time to sort through it, but asking questions on forums will give you some good advice for the most part.

Have fun during the learning curve, it's a great game!

    TG,

Think about it this way; If this guy's material is so good, why does he need to sell it for what Mr. Haney might call "a poultry fee"?

LMAO. now I'm thinking about the "pore key" episode.

A Craps Book of 197 pages written for the newer player . It will explain to the reader everything about the game of craps. It will answer virtually all questions about the game. It contains over 50 charts and tables plus a 100 question final exam ( with answers). Once finished, you will know more than 97% of the players that surround you at the table. You will receive: the book...a pair of regulation dice....and a laminated strategy/odds card. It will run you 39 bucks ( which includes.....shipping/ handling/ and a 100% money back guarantee ).

This is better than betting the Doey-Don't....as you cannot lose.

Most people that have purchased the book have told me it is a pretty good book.

PM me if you have questions or are interested in purchasing this soon to be classic.

You need to pm the author. I am just recommending his book. He will respond to your pm and arrange for shipping. Since you have PayPal it should be easy! Do you know how to pm on this site?
