Vegas has the FLU and Winter is upon us.
The once populous crowds are gone, shops are shuttered, and the gambling tables are empty.

Casino bosses are in a panic, they told the slot techs to "TIghten them up", for their paychecks depend on squeezing every last dollar out of those machines.

As I walk around The Strip, all I see is LA people, mostly from Long Beach and Compton here to take advantage of the cheap rooms ($10 a day), comped drinks, and cheap food. They are broke and jobless, so they walk around, play a few penny slots to get a drink, and complain.

Wearing of Mask, and the whole social distancing thing is not going away anytime soon here. That issue alone keeps a lot of people from flying in, and why should they come - nothing is open. No shows, no clubs, and no buffets. Even the Strip clubs are closed.

The weather here is turning cold with cold fronts moving in. It is now said we may even see rain and snow.

    WINTER IS COMING!

You should do some research on the process involved in Nevada to change the payback EEPROM on a slot machine. Knowledge is the key to prosperity.

Advantage gamblers should be happy as a clam. No tourists to muck up your advantage play and empty tables/machines everywhere to ply your craft.

Even the ticket vultures should be happy. Many ticket redemption machines are set to return even dollars only, no change. Lots of people are leaving the few odd cents in the machines. I've seen a an uptick in the number of vultures the past 3 trips.

Reminds me of an old George Peppard/Jan Michael Vincent post apocalyptic movie where the only life in Vegas was hostile cock roaches.

I’m seeing vouchers all over the place. Left on machines, credits left in machines, vouchers left on the ATM.

AFAIK, the process to change a slot machines payback is fairly laborious. They must order a new chip (very expensive), shut down the machine, empty it, fill out a decent amount of paperwork and re-set the machine.

Since the majority of these machines are rented now....that likely makes the process even more complicated.

The only word I got from Vital Vegas was slot managers have not been fooling with payout changes. Obviously, grain of salt as those guys tend to be tighter than a clam on divulging details.

When we picked our rental car up at the Bullhead City International airport, the only creature stirring was this panhandling Road Runner. I broke one of my own rules and bought a bag of potato chips for him. He was pretty skilled at catching them before they hit the ground.

Laughlin was actually busier than normal this trip.

LOL....with some of the class of visitor invading Vegas right now, Laughlin is moving up;)

With no shows, no clubs, service cuts, restaurant closures....Vegas is Laughlin right now. Laughlin is Vegas.

You can even go to Oatman and see the “ducks”....

from descriiptions and news reports I get out here on the east coast, sounds like there are enough jackasses in vegas right now , probably 10x more than oatman.

I strongly believe if biden gets elected, while I know most of the shit he says wont come to fruition, I do believe there will be many more stricter lockdowns, as him and his cronies will demand it.
then and only then I feel vegas might actually become a fraction of what it is now, and it might be years and years until it recovers......there is no draw for vegas without restaurants, shows, clubs,

With the panhandling "trade" so slow, I guess you're now doing some moonlighting as a "buffalo hunter" huh? :)

Well Ma'am, I could kiss-ass (like you), and probably better, but ya know, that is not now, nor has it ever been my "game". TD doesn't mind a little ribbing, and I don't mind when he ribs me. It's all in good fun, and no harm done, no big deal. Yeah, I'm strongly opinionated, and will "stand and defend" when opposed. If they take a swing, I swing back, again no big deal. You apparently DO like me, as you rarely reply to anybody else, albeit, I think it's something like a "fatal attraction". In any case, it's always "good" to hear from you, and until next time, FU and the horse you rode in on Ma'am.
