Please, please, please......Don't pull the plug on The Masters and the Derby. Can you imagine running the Derby without any fans at Churchill Downs? Both are outside, so they can be contested. The Masters is scheduled to start 4 weeks from today.

I don't know jack about college basketball, but I'm thinking that the underdogs might overperform in an arena without fans. Just a wild ass guess.

I spoke to my ex pharmacist today it's a nightmare
Dozens of people coming in with fever and coughing in a panic and he's exposed to it constantly and he knows it's the flu but now they are all coming out of the woodwork like he can cure them
These are mostly low income people with little or no knowledge of the English language and don't know who to turn to or where to go

I have a new benchmark.......the time to buy in the stock market is not when there is blood in the streets.....but when the country is running out of toilet paper.

Sorry to have this say but even Catholic Churches have been ordered closed. Stay home. This Virus is way tougher then anything we have ever seen. Picture a snow storm. That's how much will be in the air in crowded places. I am waiting to see how this affects the animal population.

Minimal in the US because US farmers already know how to prevent Coronavirus in livestock. It's easily preventable in humans too but doctors are prevented by law from telling you because it isn't FDA approved.

Today my wife, at work heard that "someone", not sure who, is paying people $4700 some odd dollars to anyone who will be inoculated with a "cure". No other information yet. Mostly needs nothing.

    Some interesting news from Italy.

    Coronavirus:Arthritis drug seems to work
Naples doctor calls for use of medicine to be extended
ANSA) - Rome, March 11 - A commonly used arthritis drug has shown "excellent results" in two coronavirus patients and a national protocol for its extensive use against the virus should be drawn up, oncologist Paolo Ascierto of Naples' Pascale Hospital said Wednesday. The drug, tocilizumab, "has shown it is effective against pneumonia caused by COVID-29," he said. One of the two patients will be taken off life support Thursday because of the improvement in his condition, Ascierto said.
He called for a "national protocol to immediately extend the use of tocilizumab in an emergency that has killed 631 people and infected over 10,000 in Italy".
Ascierto said the hospital had started treating two other patients with the virus on Tuesday and will begin treating another two Wednesday.

    More fucking good news.

Hayward: China Threatens to Cut Off Medicine, Throw America into ‘Mighty Sea of Coronavirus’
An article in China’s state-run Xinhua news service last week threatened to impose restrictions on medical exports so the United States will be “plunged into the mighty sea of coronavirus.”

The Xinhua piece, published on March 4 and entitled “Be Bold: The World Owes China a Thank You,” was largely composed of standard Chinese Communist Party propaganda about how the world stands in awe of China’s amazing response to the coronavirus outbreak. Naturally, it neglected to mention how the virus ran wild in the first place because of Chinese bureaucratic incompetence and cover-ups.

The Chinese have become as determined to wipe the first months of the coronavirus from the pages of history as they are to keep anyone from remembering Tiananmen Square. The Xinhua article made a point of noting that China has leverage over the U.S. and Europe because it can restrict the supply of medicines that were unwisely outsourced to China in the heyday of globalism.

The Chinese paper explicitly threatened to do so if Americans and Europeans continue criticizing its response to the coronavirus or act too slowly to lift travel bans and other restrictions the Chinese government dislikes, but then cushioned the threat in the Communist Party’s usual creepy way by insisting China is filled with so much “love” for the world that it would never harm the people of other countries, or even “insult” them the way China has been “insulted” during the coronavirus epidemic.

One of the insults harped on by Xinhua was Walter Russell Mead’s February 3 op-ed for the Wall Street Journal entitled “China Is the Real Sick Man of Asia,” a piece that prompted Beijing to expel Wall Street Journal reporters and begin complaining incessantly that Mead’s piece was insulting and racist. According to Xinhua’s March 4 editorial, Mead, his column, and the entire Wall Street Journal publication are now “infamous.”

Went to the local grocer a couple of hours ago and they were unloading a small shipment of toilet paper. Probably less than a pallet load. Anyway at this place a 24 pack will set you back $22.

I said no thanks I've already overpaid for my stock once.

OPINION, UNITED STATES OF COMMON SENSE
Business “As Usual” Is Over – Holding The CDC Accountable
by Charles "Sam" Faddis March 14, 2020

We are now several months into the explosion of the coronavirus. Deaths are mounting around the globe, and every day another piece of American society shuts down. And, still, testing kits are few and far between and hard answers on when they will be available are difficult to come by.

How we got here is now clear. Many weeks ago, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), that organization we are always told exists specifically to keep us safe from pandemics, faced the reality that we were dangerously short of coronavirus test kits. There were in existence, of course, test kits used by the World Health Organization for this purpose, but CDC decided not to use these.

Instead, CDC opted, as the number of cases of the virus increased exponentially every day, to develop an entirely new test. Then, just to make things worse it forbid labs around the country from developing and deploying their own tests and mandated that all tests be sent to a single location in Atlanta for processing.

The CDC test failed. Multiple issues required major rework.
