No, you are full of shit. This downward trend in the market, does not follow the trend of a "correction". This is a response to a perceived threat. That being the implications of this virus thing. How could you see it any other way?

I knew I had read this somewhere. perfectly explains the announcement by CDC.

On Tuesday while Trump was wrapping up a state visit to India, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) official, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, gave an alarmist briefing to reporters that ran counter to Trump’s efforts to calm the public and markets. While some, including TGP’s Joe Hoft, have noted Messonnier is the sister of controversial former Trump Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, suggesting that relationship may have been behind the alarmist briefing, Trump himself has said he does not believe the CDC is trying to hurt him.

You are correct this is not a market correction, this is a human generated panic.

look......the CDC indicated that there are about 45 million cases of flue each year and here there are
about 12-16000 deaths each year since 2010.

No airports closed, no conferences were canceled, there was no fight in congress about how many billions was enough...To date we have had no deaths in this country...….

China has had a hard time, Iran a hard time, South Korea a hard time and Italy.....yet China will get through this, so will Italy and Iran and South Korea, and so will we......and we will do so with far less people dying than in a typical flue season.

However this panic will cause the market to drop to about the same level as it was when Trump took
office. the panic while over.....will leave financial wounds that for many will not be healed in thier
    entire lifetimes......

Much of the panic here will be caused by the two parties fighting amongst themselves posturing for the next election.....none of these people think about others....just votes.

the time to make money in the market is when there is blood in the streets....not when things are ho-hum.

those that have their powder dry and a pair, should definately make money in these times.....just remember, you can never pick the lows or the highs....as long as you are fairly close you will do ok....

there will be a little bounce but i believe we have more to go on the downside.....especially when the number of cases in the US start going up fairly rapidly.......it's impossible we can contain it this well for long........Trump is good but he will have to be a miracle man to keep this shit at bay for long......but that sonofagun will use all the resources he has at his disposal and whatever unorthodox means necessary to not let this thing beat him......I would not bet against him to beat the virus.....he's just too good.

Trump is a dead man walking...…

I would have said it was 100 to 1 on him being president, couple of months
ago I would have given the same odds on something happening to the
economy before November. as 777 says the guy is good.....no one likes him, the market
will have crashed and the older voter that voted for him will see their life sayings get
    crushed......his odds are 100-1 against....

the thought I had when he won the election was devine intervention....but how, he is not
    even a decent guy...…...now this...…?????

as they say the lord works in mysterious ways...… Trump has done everything he can to make enemies and lose fringe voters...… and in the end he loses because of something that was not his fault …….I think Trump will beat this thing,i think once in his life he will do what is needed for others..... but it will still cost him....

    This is Barney

I believe once the Mexico personages get the virus, Trump will use the money he gets from the Congress for fighting the Corono viruses to build the wall all along the border to save the USA from the sickness.

The LID said he heard from the Trump that he is considering construction of a big, perfect plastic dome over the country. But if the Dems refuse giving him the money he needs his backup plan is a big tarp.

What is unusual about this construction is the addition of decorative niches. Originally the structure was painted a dark red with the niches in black intended to deepen the shadows of the recessed niches. Deep in these dark niches is where coronoballs breed and multiply planning on immigrating on birdmen. They are in training.

You can make all the jokes you want, but this virus thing is a serious threat. A person doesn't have to contract the virus, to suffer consequences. This thing could "kill" your job, your life savings, and your freedom of movement. Curtailment of economic activity, sends "ripples", in all directions. In China, only one person in about 16,000, has been infected, but just look at what the economic consequences have been. The economic "ripples" have traveled everywhere, and very quickly.

Call it whatever you want, but you know this is NOT, the same situation, as what is normally termed a "correction". This drop in the market is due to a perceived threat to global commercial activity, not the normal perceived overvaluation. This is different, and you know it.

What's your definition of "alarmist", the truth? The truth is what it is, its that simple. Yes, everybody should remain.calm, in that, there really isn't a lot you can do about the situation. This thing will cause commercial disruptions, and those disruptions, will have a ripple effect. I think the casino "industry" will be hit hard, along with all travel related industries. I'm concerned more about my "job" right now than anything else, especially since I won't be able to moonlight at the casinos, due to safety concerns. I'm down to one source of income. I'm also worried about BS777, due to his advanced age.

Everything I said, was just the truth. "yOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH". You said shit like,"it's just the flu" it's "only" 2% fatal. That's bullshit. I for one, have not heard ONE word about what's being done, to protect the thousands of US troops stationed in South Korea, have you? There is also a big US airbase in Northern Italy, have not heard anything about that, either. Now, the White House is censoring anything coming out of the CDC, or related agencies. WHY? IMO, trump is not competent, to handle this situation.
