When last in LV, I did much better on Venetian's 2x odds tables than I did trying to play 100x odds at the Casino Royale. I say trying because I couldn't get ahead at the CR by enough to get out any kind of meaningful odds.

I'll get them there next time.

Especially when, as I understand it, the standard European and American versions are available a stone's throw away. A lower table minimum is the only attraction I can think of but I do not recall such being mentioned.

The old Horseshoe had the "Big Wheel" right at the entrance to the front of the casino. It was there for years. Every time I went there, there were people playing it. The odds on it would make a triple "0" roulette look like a coin flip. :)

Every Big Wheel I remember seeing was prominently positioned at the casino entrance with a stunningly attractive female dealer. I never paid much attention to the game itself, but l would guess I could learn to deal it in less than a minute. Hence I would not be at all surprised if the casinos were taking a page from Greek mythology, using the game and its dealer in the manner of The Sirens to lure sailors to their doom.

what Im guessing, is that some 19 year old kid, without a college education, was serving coffee from his coffee bar at the venetian, and charging close to 4.00 a cup for a small.......saying to himself/herself, wow, back home in Idaho, when I was a server in the local diner, we charged 1.00 for this same cup, and that was only 4 months ago, I guess anything goes in vegas and anyone is willing to pay, so he walked over to a pit boss on his break, and said, hey, why not add another number to this board and make it that much harder to win, and the pit boss said, yeah, good idea kid, let me take it upstairs.

don't be surprised if you soon find bill machines on public toilets in some casinos.
if they can make a buck, trust me, they will charge you to take a dump.
1.00 to get into a stall. its coming, trust me. A reason I no longer care to make that many trips to las vegas.
once a year is sufficient, but after my trip soon, I may never go back, casinos are flourishing all over the east coast.
until they start adding a zero, Ill go to them also.

The kid must have been a dropout working a diner around U of I (Moscow) or Idaho State (Pocatello). "Coffee" is apparently an alien concept in the Boise State area, for on those rare occasions when I accompany my wife to one of the coffee houses here and ask for regular coffee (instead of something unpronounceable by casual passers-by, like my wife does) the crew and other customers act like I'm wearing a hockey mask and carrying a chainsaw.

ok, so he worked in Indiana.

the corporate greed displayed by casino/hotel management is incredible.

its usually the reason for their demise as well, greed and mismanagement. but both seem to go hand in hand.

its these types of decisions that always makes me question things like DI claims, not that I want to get into this discussion again.
but casinos are so greedy, why on earth would they allow anything that for a split second they thought anyone would gain an advantage.

25 years ago, I used to love to go to las vegas. Now, I go for other reasons besides gambling.
When places start to erode like downtown vegas and Reno(so Ive been told), me and many wont bother making the trip even once a year.

People go and just say, oh well, its onlyl 4 days, bite the bullet, pay the prices.

Keep adding games that make it near impossible to win anything, well see how long these casinos will last.
