making plans to spend a few weeknights in various casinos.
I get a zillion emails with offers, and even though I don't recall playing in any ceasars resort/casino with my players card in years, they sent me offers.
I clicked on Ceasars in AC, just to see what they are offering.
the nights I chose, not using my players card,(don't even know if I have one anymore, but Im on a mailing list)
70 bucks a night, very reasonable.
now get this, 24 dollars in resort fees, which included wifi for 2 devices, and a 5 dollar parking voucher(how nice of them to give me back the parking fee)
then theres a 5 dollar fee, with no description of what the fee is for.....unbelievable. its just a fee, its happened, now there are fees for fees, no explanation and they expect people to accept that?
and then there was 13 dollars tax. so for a 70 dollar room, its over 40 dollars in fees and taxes.
unbelievable. Im guessing in a few years all casino rooms will be free to guest, but they will have to pay 180 dollars a night for wifi and free bathroom use.
hotel industry has no regulations, it makes me sick.

I had an old water gun on my shelves once in my store. it was pushed back on a bottom shelf. Dept of consumer affairs walks in, fines me for ink too light in register, and then hands me a one thousand dollar fine for toy watergun because it wasn't bright colors. consumer affairs said they fine 1000 dollars for each water gun that doesn't meet their regulations in NY,
I just don't get any of it anymore.

hotel industry can do whatever they please, post a range on door from 100 dollars to 5000 dollars a night and that's acceptable.

If I price gouge batteries and flashlights during a blackout, I get fines up the wazoo, if hotels charge 10 times as much for busy nights, its totally acceptable.

I knew I should have become a male stripper Chippendale dancer

Nice SuperRick Here, The resort fees started back in the 80's I first saw them in Fla. at a beach resort that I would rent a Condo at for a sailboat race every year! Those fees caught me completely off guard when I went to check out and refused to pay them! I told them to call the police there was no way I was paying for something that was not advertised in their rate when I booked the condo.

So fast forward to today and they are now everywhere! I didn't pay them and I never book a condo there again. The only way to stop them is to boycott any casino that is charging them the same thing with their parking fees. There are casinos in just about every state now when you go to book a room in Vegas please remind them of that, then don't book it and go elsewhere! You can still find casinos that do not charge them here in Vegas!

If you run your own small business you know how difficult it can be dealing with your city and some of the fines they can slap on you!

Big business has stopped a lot of small business from growing and put whole downtowns in small communities out of business! I've always tried to support the small business something one of my grade school teachers instilled in her students.
I always try to find small restaurants to eat in and do not like going to the chain restaurants! If you have a choice use it wisely you may save a few pennies today but in the long run, it's going to cost you when you can't go anywhere else!

At the beginning of my taxi driving career I spent quite a bit of time in the airport cab line. A pet phrase of one of the other drivers, who also owned a cab company, was, "It's not about the money, it's the principle of the thing," whenever he had a monetary issue. A few of us agreed he should write a book titled The Unimportance of Money. The book would be free of course, but shipping and handling would be $59.95.

just gonna sit back and wait for deals to roll in. why pay when some casino within 2 hours or so of me will hand me free rooms and food.

this time of year they are desperate to fill rooms, play or not, Ill get my freebies and then get on phone with supervisor and ask for upgrades.

surfed some sites to see prices in AC, wow, they must be hurting big time, even Borgata, with fees, under 140 per night the days I chose.
trop, under 60 a night, add on some fees, still cheap.

cant go to AC, but I like to look at prices.

Why won't they let you go to Atlantic City? Speaking of which, did they ever get the sports betting thing going, in New Jersey? :)

Been there about 10 times in the late 90's, haven been since, for the very reason you state, a "shithole" it is. Very well constructed boardwalk though, and about ten miles of it, to walk, if you dare. :)

Im guessing 500-or so times in ac for at least 2 night visits.(80s thru 90s)

It was shithole in 1977(maybe the first time I went, maybe it was 76? stood in resorts on lines 4 people deep to play 10 dollar blackjack my first visit, don't recall the exact year)
but for 2 decades nothing but promises of cleaning it up, making it safe for visitors.
and I guess we fell for that, but many people we know had problems, some actually got robbed in hotels, near boardwalk, etc.......we decided its best not to leave hotel grounds, only boardwalk within a block of hotel and never, ever, go out at night after sundown.

    now its just why bother.

one xmas week, we had lots of comps at resorts and shitboat.

we never stayed at resorts, but played there on occasion when at shitboat.

so we took 4 rooms that week for 3-4 nights, all comped. 2 under my wife, 2 under me, one each in each hotel.

we brought down my children, my bil sil and their children.

in shitboat, around 3 am, a bunch of gangbangers started fist fights in the hallway, and everyone called police, fuck hotel security, we had 2 teenage girls banging against our door and screaming.
police came way too late, security came up, don't know th4e outcome.

another time, while in shitboat, I went to get a soda out of vending machine, theres an 8-10 y/o kid pissing into the garbage can like it was urinal. I asked him, what are you doing that here for, go to your room. He was just the offspring of animals and he was enjoying himself, probably doing it on every floor for fun.

We had enough of shitboat, glad it closed.

    This is Barney,

I am most very much confused. I just got communication from the LID and he too was on shitboat. He said the driver of the shitboat landed it so they could enjoy island as hurricane passes by. The LID, MP, and the Dicenator have been doing most greatest at the craps on the so-called shitboat until shitboat driver decided to dock the boat. Here is picture the MP took of the shitboat while the casino personages enjoy sites and smells of the Atlantic island.

and offers are rolling in.....unfortunately, I need at least 2 more laser surgeries and now I have juggle dates around the appointments, but its managable.

yesterday, after getting email offers(Not going to mention the casino at this time, but its within driving distance for me), we had some promotional rates and some comped nights available.

had to call and get live operator to make reservation, after discussing comp options for various days, she asked me if I wanted to use my comp offer or the promotional rate.

I thought to myself, what? she kidding me? didnt I just spend 15 minutes withher on phone trying to get 3 nights for free?

    oh boy, wow.

the good thing is even if promotional rates arent available for night I want(alot of promotional rates are under 80 dollars, which is nothing), room specials are no more than 105-110 dollars a night at all casino hotels we are looking into. good deal all around.
Im very tempted to hop on a plane and fly into vegas., very, very tempted. trying to convince my wife, not a 10 day trip, maybe 5-6 days.
Only problem with vegas is that it would have to be a caesars resort, they are offering me comped rates in a few different locations in vegas, all on the strip or close to the strip(I believe they are close)
Cant get comped at cromwell, but rates are super low for me early december.....like I said, very tempting, not just for gaming, just to get away and visit the desert, shoot a few machine guns, maybe a rocket launcher this trip, Id pay a few grand to drive a tank over a car but only if they let me choose the car, dont want to run over an abandon taxi cab i nthe desert, Id like to pull into mgm's parking lot and run over someones maserati......that would be fun.

my problem lately is that although not the min money issue, I cant fucking stand giving aqueduct any action, they treat me like shit, I get nothing from them, nada.
at 15 dollar min bet on craps, youd think theyd offer me a free cup of coffee? nope, nothing, their monopoly on NY is shitty.
I enjoy the bubble there, but they dont care about anyone patronizing their business.
if you dont lose 10 grand a year there playing slots, they aint giving you shit

plus, its nice to get away with my wife, change of scenery, we dont want to go apple picking or pumpkin picking, we can shoot into the city if we wanted to see a show, or restaurant,

my son got me tickets to see billy joel new years eve row 6 at nassau coliseum, but I declined them so he sold them. Not really for me.....dont dig the entire crowded concert thing.....

I think right after the laser shit, I need to hop on a plane and get away for a few days, or week.

IM a bit itchy to get my hands on some chips and dice/and or bubbles

funny you mentioned it, we looked into flights from here to Memphis, the closest airport to tunica without switching planes(we aren't good fliers)
smaller planes, not sure my wife would board one.

good luck in Biloxi, hope you win a bundle and have a blast. I will get there one day......

    I'm buying the dips.

What ever happens on Election day, I believe the market goes up after that.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, unless it involves Harrah's New Mexico, but I believe the market is being artificially hammered down on election concerns.

The economy appears to be booming, what's to worry about?
