So i played an hour tonight. Was doing ok. Sure i was up 20% of my $600. Should have walked. My 1st role i made my point and hit a come bet with 2xodds on both. Next guy rolled point. I made come he 7s out. No harm done. Next guy wins me 3 come bets with 2xodds. Sweet. Still had a come 5 with 2xodds when he 7s. Then next 3 shooters suck. Including myself. Quick 7s. I was still up 50 when u shot. Roll 8 for my point. Come 6. 2xodds. 3rd role 7 out. Grrrr. I get excited playing and just loose my concentration. Its fun hitting. Inwas playing b4 work tonight. Didnt have long anyways. Soon as i was up 20% should have scooted. Certainly would have been happy with $120. Did hit a hard 10 for dealers for $2. So technically broke even. Walked away $16 lighter.
Also. What to do when i made my point and still had 8 up with odds. Had odds on on my 2nd come out. 7. Won 10 on my pass but lost the $30 on my 8. ($10 come 2xodd). Really was feeling the 8. Oh well. Sure is addictive game.
It's always the players choice, but to me, why leave the odds working at come out when you are on the line and hoping that your for one roll only 2 to 1 favored wager will score a hit.? For me, the answer to your Q of when to quit is immediately after a loser that occurs as you are heavily increasing your winning bets.
The more you play the more you will be able to sniff out when to quit and when to send it in. Some people can do this better than others. Most of the time, don't depend on the math or what probabilty says........rely on your nose. 777
When to quit is fairly easy for me now, wasn't so in my early days of craps play. Now it is all a matter of utility....what is the money in my rack worth to me at any given time! Do I want to keep it for other things, or do I want to risk it on a little more action. A dollar when you are hungry, is worth $20 when you have $21.
I always played for the big hand in my younger days. I'd press bets like a mad man. Had some big scores and a whole lot of fun and a lot of pain as well. Now I cant get away fast enough when I'm ahead I don't have as much fun but I do have a lot less pain
When to quit!? 1. On the first trip to the ATM take the exit door instead. 2, Just shy of winning $10,000. 3. You stayed and played over night; It's morning and you're supposed to be at work!
For what it is worth, I only see three reasons to cash out your chips: 1) The table is ""COLD"", Dice have gone around & no one has had a good roll, few "profit chips" on the table ~ Likely not a good table pick to start with. You should have recognized table conditions along the way & played conservatively, or left earlier. 2) Your Gain Reaches or Exceeds 5 times your buy in, as the Casino knows what you bought in for & about what you Color Out for (minus any chips you Rat Holed). Exceeding 5X numerous times definitely gains attention to you, regardless of who was shooting the dice. 3) You have played for about two hours & have no reason to want to go around again to pick up that best roller on the table. This is purely a stamina out, only stick around if you continue to build towards that 5X level. With a 10 K Line, one should be buying in for some $500, as it improves ones comps & with that HOT table (that only comes about 20% of the time) you are fooling yourself big time with a $ 250 profit cash out. Also, that $500 buy in allows for a $2500 profit cash out, without drawing significant heat. Do not forget that on that Cold Table, you should be cashing out well before that $ 500 Buy In was reached. eagleeye2
Onautopilot, You remain an IDIOT! I am not Haley, quit showing your IGNORANCE by misquoting Harley! eagleeye2
Unlike the Horse Shit & B.S. you delve in, I gamble to win, not lose like you apparently do. eagleeye2
I just quit when James steps up to the table. Oh I meant Harley. I mean Bohemian. Damn I am so confused now is it eagleturd.
what kind of shithole casinos do you play in? really? when I gambled only green chips back in the 80s, buying in for 1, 3, 5 thousand, meant nothing at the 25 or 50 dollar tables. Nada. Id see people buying in for a grand, walking away with 10 grand, and there was absolutely zero HEAT as you refer to negative reaction by casino employees. nothing, on the contrary, it was usually the pit bosses that were congratulating the player, or myself on a nice win, and always asking if we needed anything, like a meal or a show. what heat.....Ive never seen a single player in my entire life, whether Ive watched high limit tables, or seen 300 dollar buy ins win 5 grand. Never. The casino knows who a criminal is if they are raking in chips and theres something fishy about it, like card counting, dealer participation(criminal actions of dealers in cahoots with players), or someone attempting to put more chips down when they win. if you walk up to any table, in any casino Ive ever played at, and bought in for 300, and won 5 grand, no one would give you heat? its incredible. where do you get this stuff from. Please don't discount almost 40 years of playing craps, and blackjack, and roulette now and then. not to mention video poker, and the few bonuses Ive won on slot machines. (Id stand by and watch my wife play dollar slots back in the 80s at the holiday inn casino, and the payouts were high. sometimes shed hit 1000 dollar bonuses 3 times over the course of a few hours, and actually walk away with money) Heat, what heat. Ive never been confronted by any casino employee in my life, well, yes, when I bring a newbie to the table and they hold the dice in both hands, or I lift my soda water over the rail and Im told to please keep it below the table. Is that heat?
unfair dice, biased dice, casino heat, it sounds like some people are unlucky gamblers and need to assess blame somewhere besides themselves.
Edward Ky sit down , take a deep breath it will come to you I know when a person gets to be your age things have a tendency to get confusing
I see stupid players get heat all the time, "Sir, no cell phones please." Dumb fucks wanna take a selfie at a craps table? Duh!
