My brother was a bartender on Whiskey row for a few years, when he got out of the Navy. He worked at Matt's Bar. He was only there about 4 months, when the Rodeo came to town. This was early 70's. The bar owner hired LAPD, and CHP cops as bouncers, after years of having his bar trashed, and it was a beautiful bar in every respect. A place where the floorboards had soaked up plenty of beer and blood over the years, lots of years.

Anyway, my brother was still kinda green behind the bar, and the place is jammed with drunken rodeo Cowboys. He asks a particular fella what he wants to drink, and the guy answers in a drunkin drawl, "gimme a Matt drink!" My brother has no idea WTF this guy is talking about, and thinking maybe it's a house drink named after the bar. But no one told him before?

So he has to ask again, "Sorry sir, I'm not sure what a Matt drink is?"

You know the rubber mat, that they pour shots on to catch the spillage?

That's what this cowboy wanted. He says to my brother, "Just take that there mat and pour it in a glass for me!"

I think he got that drink for free, and seemed to enjoy it mightily !

Like you said, those were some fun times.

    here's you a fun fact
calf ropers have to rope a calf flank him , throw him to the ground and you want to do that with enough force that it momentarily
takes his mind off struggling , you then take your piggin string on one foot then wrap is legs togeter pull the string thru just far enough to secure the calf
you do that generally two wraps
, cowboys call that final operation
    TWO AND A HOOEY
the funny thing about the piggin string which they have gone now to calling a hooey
is that many of the cowboys will place that in their mouth till they get off the horse to wrap the calf
a lot of times they will have a good deal of residual poop and sweat remnant
although they do clean them as best they can

when riding bulls it is nothing to get off one and have bull snot all over you
that is where the term SLIMED came from

And I thought getting slimed was from Ghostbusters. Bull snot, I'm sure there's a drink named that. Good stories Mr. Hall.

I just want to apologize to you for being such a jerk and for all the stupid shit I've said to you. It's not really my nature, and it won't be happening again. I can respect you as a person without agreeing with some of your philosophies. So, consider this a cease fire, or a no fire zone.

    I don't think you are a jerk
I just expect people to believe too much , I never just do anything
everything I do I devote everything I have to it
I spend a lot of time at craps I guess I expect everybody to be the way I am I can be unreasonable everybody on this forum has said some pretty stupid shit
    I am no exception I have said things I wish I hadn't
    don't tell anyone
Talk to you later I hope

I only see three reasons to cash out your chips:

    1) The table is ""COLD"", Dice have gone around & no one has had a good roll, few "profit chips" on the table ~ Likely not a good table pick to start with. You should have recognized table conditions along the way & played conservatively, or left earlier.

    2) Your Gain Reaches or Exceeds 5 times your buy in, as the Casino knows what you bought in for & about what you Color Out for (minus any chips you Rat Holed). Exceeding 5X numerous times definitely gains attention to you, regardless of who was shooting the dice.

    3) You have played for about two hours & have no reason to want to go around again to pick up that best roller on the table. This is purely a stamina out, only stick around if you continue to build towards that 5X level.

With a 10 K Line, (as someone here has) one should be buying in for some $500, as it improves ones comps & with that HOT table (that only comes about 20% of the time) you are fooling yourself big time with a $ 250 profit cash out.

Also, that $500 buy in allows for a $2500 profit cash out, without drawing significant heat.
Do not forget that on that Cold Table, you should be cashing out well before that $ 500 Buy In was reached.

I leave when I have to shit, eat, or the wife is ready to leave. The rest is a endurance run!

Now that being said, this is how I play now, but I'm going to try out TableTops method of play with 5-6\10-20min. sessions, unless the table gets SUPER HOT!

Hoping to avoid another NuTT CliPpiNg!

Nut Clipping really sucks, especially if you're a colt. TT's hit and run worked for me! And I avoided the dumbshit spray with my new hat.

Why contribute, when it's met with criticism, Name calling and almost grounds for bullying in some people's eyes (not mine). Especially when all the signs are there knowing it's a troll, keyboard bandit that's not worth the time or energy. I know why people created a ignore button, and can so freely excercise that option...

So what your saying is if I buy in for $500 I can walk away with $2500
win.. I never knew it worked liked that.

Hell I got $1000 in my pocket right now.... that's means tomorrow
    night I get another $5000.

Is this a great life or what\!!!!

    twodicebilly,

Right On, providing you are FUNCTIONING on #2 in my post, LIKE most things, however, one must read the full post.

Unfortunately, if you are FUNCTIONING in # 1 & #3 of Post # 227 (repeated below) , it's time to cut bait, likely at a LOSS!
