    X=y :if x=1 then y=1
    (x)(x)=(y)(x)
    (x)(x)-(y)(y)=(y)(x)-(y)(y)
    (x+y)(x-y)=(y)(x-y)
    x+y=y

    2=1

    x-y = 0
    (x+y)(x-y) = 0
    y(x-y) = 0
    0 = 0
    You know better than that.

    Ah, a classic -- divide by 0 and somehow still come up with a finite, real number. That's the secret plan to balance the budget in Illinois.

    I am not really a math nut, nor do I have any really understanding of the use of scientific notation, let alone comprehend much of it....but, I love the math!

    It gives me some "constant" to hold onto a lot of times. One of the few realities that seem to be, for most, a Universal reality.

    For me, the math is just a sort of language that describes or explains things of a physical nature.

    It does a great job of that...especially concerning casino gambling games. :)
