What exactly is a dice spinner is this related to the craps game at all?

I have to confess I am not familiar with the term, but I can make an educated—OK, experienced—guess.  Well, two guesses, actually.

Guess #1: It is a slang expression for a shooter, or maybe more generally, for a craps player.

Guess #2: It refers to the unacceptable practice of sliding one or both dice so that they spin instead of tumbling.  If executed successfully, whatever face is set on top remains on top during the shot.  See http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dice-play/RollWhipShot.htm for an example of this technique.

So a dice spinner is a cheat?

A Dice Spinner is a Dice Player who is trying to obtain the same RESULTS as a dice player who SETS the dice to roll their number , numbers. They pratice from AGE 5 UP ! They can spin any choozen dice number with a great batting average !  This is mostly all they do except fly trained birds over Israel which have no lasting success -dice or otherwise—-Same Star Of David !

Russian Louie’s CHUM (a native american by way of Mexico)was the 1st to introduce me to this feat . Sam Grafstein (The Einstein Of Dice) also touched slightly on the subject. Said ” CHUM ” was a trained DICE” SWITCH ” ARTIST, he could ALSO SPIN a given point if he wanted too. Russian Louie was mostly instrested (at the time) roulette SPINS- he and the CHUM(As the story goes) broke into the MORGAN CITY, LA CASINO (YES THEY HAD ONE BACK THEN)and rigged the rouletter wheel to SPIN their way! (They would HAVE stayed but the janitor noticed “cracks in the transom FRESH PAINT JOB !) Louie was also interested in Poker Games , when he and his CHUM got to Vegas he made his own invite to a Poker Game run by Casino Owners, after a few hands he stood up with Gun in hand and said “I WIN EVERY THING”)

I would ask said CHUM for more stories about Louie -TOO MUCH GUTS ! (he would say)

You raise a very interesting question, and one which generated some rather lively discussions on the rec.gambling.craps newsgroup on occasion: “DICE SETTING? FACT OR FICTION” in December, 2001; “To cheat or not to cheat” in December, 2003; “Back to ‘scamming and cheating’ by ‘influencers’” in July, 2004; and “Is Dice Setting Cheating?” in July, 2005.  I don’t think the issue was ever resolved.  My own opinion is that dice spinning, as in my Guess #2 above, is not cheating; rather it is a form of advantage play.  Of course casinos recognize it as such and disallow its use.

As far a i am concerned you can set the dice all day or all nite long , let the dice take a few bounces and i will book your bets .

A switch ARTIST ,( CAN SWITCH THE DICE WITH ONE HAND PLACING HIS FUNNY DICE IN PLAY) no i will not book their bets .

A TRAINED DICE SPINNER( PRATICES SPINNING DICE 5 YEARS OLD AND UP) No i will not book their bets.

When dice “spin ” many times they overcome hits incurred from chips etc. This is why it is such a effective way to make a given number . The THUMB is the MAIN steering wheel , it controls a LIGHTENING twist when the dice are set to the desired number.
Trained spinners are 95% effective ! Russian Louie’s CHUM (A native American by way of Mexico) demonstrated this feat to me .

I perfer not getting BARRED , the only time I tried it was when some Dealers wanted me to show them , I was behind 3 Dont Pass NUMBERS -Full Odds. I set the dice to a 6-1 and gave them a TWIST -sure enough 7 OUT !

I seldom shoot the dice , i remember winning a HUGE Dont Pass Session and one of the Floor men stopped the game waving his finger at me- one of the dealers came to my rescue explaining “HOW COULD HE CHEAT , HE DONT EVEN SHOOT THE DICE ?
