Hello everyone, and Thank You Alan & Van for your help!

I had a very successful Craps adventure this past weekend in Downtown Las Vegas.

Bad news 1st, In my opinion Binions is just not worth a visit anymore. Staff seemed to be tired, rude and tense, and created an environment that the experienced player would go elsewhere. Although, the Craps Table near the Front Entrance had an all female staff including Box-Women dressed in hot pants and cowboy outfits.  I was on this table for 15 minutes went up a bit but they made two payout errors with me on odds and several other players had the same experience.

I stayed at the “Golden Nugget” nice place for downtown. I was a little shocked not to see a Craps Table at the Golden Nugget with a $5.00 Minimum Bet. There were $10,$15,$25 only! Lots of great action and some really good streaks.

I ventured over to the “Fremont” for some craps action and found Craps Bliss for the entire weekend. They had 3-4 tables total that were busy from 12 noon until late 3:00am. The pace was slow 1 roll every minute or so. However their were some really wonderful shooters at the tables at all times. For three days straight we had several shooters each round rolling 15-40 rolls. It felt like being on a basketball team with several terrific players. Apparently, this hotel contracts vacations through a Hawaiian travel agent and they come almost every weekend. I mention this because most of the players were Hawaiian, fun to play with, and very serious Craps Players. The Fremont also has LED Roll Counters placed on each table where the Box-man sits. Each shooter’s Roll Count is displayed very visibly, great tool.

If you are going to Las Vegas give this place a look. Craps is a Priority at the “Fremont”. I hope this info. is helpful!

Good Luck!

You’re quite welcome, though modesty requires me to confess that I do not recall providing any assistance.

I have not had the opportunity to visit LV for quite a few years and so appreciate the update.  I usually stayed in Jean or Primm because 1) I could get free rooms there, and 2) it gave me a half hour head start on San Diego, where my son was living at the time.  Nevertheless, when I wandered into town I would play downtown.

By all accounts, including my own, Binions has been in steady decline since Benny’s death.  Towards the end of Becky’s reign I even heard reports that the dealers were actively hustling for tips.

GN was, and apparently still is, the class act on Fremont St.  Good buffet as I recall.  Can’t remember what the minimums were, but I do remember a sign on the tables stating that bets under $25 would not be rated.

Fremont, Golden Gate, and Union Plaza were my favorites, and I did like the counter at Fremont.  When I was there shooters whose hands lasted at least 15 rolls got a ticket stating the number of rolls, which could be redeemed for prizes, kind of like at a carnival.  Tickets could be accumulated, and the higher the total number of rolls redeemed, the better the prize.
