Thought we would get a quick run to Atlantic City in before the Christmas holiday
so the wife and I drove to the shore.  After a bit of Philly
traffic we got onto the AC Xway and it was smooth sailing from there.

When we got to AC we decided to visit the Marina area since we hadn’t
been there lately.  I had an unimpressive visit to Harrah’s where I
found 2 $10’s and dropped about $20.  Next off to Trump Marina where
there were 3 10’s open.  I did poorly there and was now down about
$200.

I should note that neither casino was busy at all.  Not many folks
visiting AC probably because of the holiday or could the new Philly
Park casino which had recently opened.  Time would
tell.

Anyway, we next stopped at the Hilton.  Where I stepped up to one of
the 3 $10’s opened.  I got into my favorite position which is
“straight out” and a young lady to my right was rolling.  She soon
sevened-out and I asked her how the table was playing.  She said it was
slow and that she had just gotten back from “tappin’ MAC” (a really bad
move) and was looking to get even.

I took the dice and promptly threw a 4.  That’s been a good point for
me lately so I wasn’t upset at all.  Then I started throwing numbers
and had my three point molly going.  I made the four and we were off to
a good start.

About 2-3 minutes into my roll a young man walked up to the table and
dropped about $5000 onto the table.  “here we go”, I thought to myself.
Another “showboat” who’ll keep most of it in the rail - but I was
wrong!

He asked for “all black” and began to spread across the board.  For my
part, I kept rollin’ the bones and when finished about 10 minutes later
I had made 5 passes and a bunch of numbers in between.  When I finally
sevened-out I had won back all I had lost and then some.

As for that young man - he actually “colored up” just before I
finished and walked over to me and handed me two greens.  “What’s this
for”?, I asked.  “You made me a lot of money, over $5,000”, he said.
“Thanks!”

I wished my benefactor a Merry Christmas and at that moment I learned a
very valuable lesson—-to wit:

The Christmas season is not about the gifts, or opening presents, or
drinking too much eggnog, or watching football, or putting up with
Cousin Eddie and Snots, or 25,000 twinkle lights, or the silent majesty
of a snow-covered field.  No, to a craps player, the Christmas season
is about how classy a gentleman can be to “toke” a shooter who’s had a
lucky roll!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

That is very nice! I once one a guy a few hundred,I believe because he was betting crazy bets like the yo, boxcars, and snake eyes. I hit 2 yos and a boxcar in a row. He didn’t give me squat. My dad was even pissed at him because he didn’t tip the dealers or the shooter (me).
