I love craps.  I love the Fire Bet.  I love winning the Fire Bet.  Won 6 point twice, once for $5000 and once for $10,000.  Always $1 for the Boys and they really appreciate locking up $1000 in their tip box.

I wish every Casino had the Fire Bet as the excitement and anticipation going for the 4th 5th and the elusive 6th point is indescribable.

One negative about the Fire Bet.  When you hit the 6th point for $10,000, the IRS takes the tax right there!  The casino show you the stack of $500 chips and then take five of them for the USA.

Just visited Atlantic City this past Monday.  I was playing at a $5 table at the Hilton around 2pm when the dice came to me.  I placed a $1 Fire Bet and started to roll.  45 minutes later I finally “sevened out” having made five of the required six points.  I got paid $250.

What was really interesting was the sequence:
I established a point of 4 and eventually rolled a four.
I next established points of 5, 6, and 8 in order and made each of them.
Next came a second four, established and made.
Then came the 9, established and made.
Next came a second nine, established and made.

Never rolled a ten!  Oh well, it was fun.

Cheers,

Bojangles

Mohegan Sun was the first place I played that had it.  I have always avoided bets in the center of the table.  But out of ignorance of the house edge on this one, I fool around with it occasionally when I am the shooter.  Twice I have made 4 numbers.  Harrah’s in AC has it as does the Parx in Bensalem PA and the new Sugar House in Philadelphia.  I believe the bet is patented and a royalty must be paid on it.
