Last week I visited 2 PA casinos, since they opened table games on July 18th. In both, the table minimums were $15 and $25, and all ultimately converted to $25.  Even so, both were so crowded that it was difficult (Parx in Bensalem) to impossible (Sands in Bethlehem) to get a spot at the table and play.  The Parx is in a congested suburban environment.  The Sands is surrounded by abandoned and decaying Steel Mills. The food/restaurant choices at the Parx were especially pathetic.
My verdict - they are crowded because of the novelty. I would rather spend the extra time and drive to Atlantic City, where I have a choice of lots of casinos, great food, and can shop, go to the movies, walk the boardwalk, etc… I won’t be returning to PA casinos anytime soon.

Update:  I had to pick someone up from Phila. airport today so I decided to visit Harrah’s Chester while I was down that way. I got in some good table time at a table with a $15 minimum, and it was fairly easy to get a spot at the table. Won $315 for my stay, which of course made it even better. The casino is much nicer than either The Sands in Bethlehem or The Parx in Bensalem. The dealers and other staff were very pleasant, unlike the people at The Sands, who were especially surly. I can’t comment on the restaurants since I didn’t eat there. The only thing I can cite as a negative is the design/layout of the parking garage. It is very tight, with a lot of 2-way traffic. Very difficult to navigate.

If they ever get around to offering match play coupons, it will be something to see how they deal with bettors who play offsetting bets.
