Hey all, new to the game here but I was hoping someone could help me out with some basic questions I can’t seem to track down.  First, what is the average amount of rolls per shooter(not point then rolls just total, ie 7,11,6,8,7).  Now I have heard that 2.78 times is the average before 7 out on most shooters, which doesn’t make sense to me since it should be around 6 times given that 1/6 random rolls on two dice should be 7.  So I guess do the exact probability of numbers being rolled apply to a casino craps table.  Like 16.67% for seven, 2.78% for 2 and 12 etc..Also is there a statistical breakdown of that book “72 hours on a crap table” I wonder if you averaged it out would the probablities ring true.  THanks!

I believe 8.525 rolls/hand is, or is close to, the accepted value.

I am familiar with, but do not own nor have I read, that book.  However, I gather that there is a statistical section in the back for I have heard that it generally favors the Don’ts.

Average rolls per passline decision: 3.375
39.596% of decisions are seven-outs, which end the shooters turn, so 3.375 / .39596 = 8.52, just as Midnight Skulker said.
