$20 place bet on the FIVE vs. $4 2-way hop on the FIVE

I have changed to the iron cross system vs. the darkside betting because the table I’ve been playing, plays-out less than double the odds when they advertise 3X the odds; they do this by limiting the max bet of $50 on the table.

In the past I have bet $80 inside working on the come out;($20 PLACE line bet on the 5, $30 PLACE line bet on both the 6 and 8) with $10 on the FIELD and $10 on the PASS LINE.

But lately I have skipped the place bet on the FIVE and called the $4 2-way hop on the FIVE.  And I continue to return to the hop bet until the FIVE has been rolled or a seven out.

A come out roll with a natural SEVEN to win would net a loss of $80 VS. $64.  Yet my gaming yield at the table on the HOP bet seem to outway the $20 PLACE bet in the long run.  I find it hard to track when at the tables and I have charted my on-line play showing some profitable success.

Some may ask, “why $10 instead of $5 increments?”.  Well, should one hit the FIVE on the come out a $2 2-way hop on the NINE is my next bet; unless the table pays off on the half dollar($.50) than I would play a $5 vs $10.

This is an older post but I thought I’d post a quick reply in case you’re still following this.

I think the above quote really sez it all. Namely, you don’t know. So why not find out?
Get a copy of wincraps and program in your strategy - which shouldn’t be too hard.
Basically, you’re making an $80 dollar bet so challenge yourself with another $80 bet
(also run in wincraps) such as PL @ 10 plus x2 odds for $30 total followed by same as
a Come bet for total of 60 so far. You can Place the five & nine for ten each or make
a 3rd bet on Come of $10 with x1 odds for grand total of same $80 and see what
happens.

The Math Gurus would probably say that no combination of poor HA bets can combine
to a better HA. Since P/DP/C/DC line bets carry a better HA than any of your other bets
than wincraps ought to bear out that your strategy fails to produce as good as the (slightly)
modified 3-Point Molly as outlined above.

If I’ve misunderstood you then please enlighten me,

Andrew

Andrew,

I track my play on-line with a simple speedsheet program which is easy because I can wait indefinately between the roll of the dice;  but when it comes to live action I can’t simply write down each result without the chance of missing action on the table.  This is also why I tell people to practice, practice, practice on the computer.

Not a Math Guru but,...

A couple of points worth noting;

1. “limit of $50 max bet” ? You’re getting screwed with that, no ifs, ands, or buts.

2. If you’re working Place bets on the Come-Out - I wouldn’t. Your chance of
rolling a natural that will pay the PL even money doesn’t change from roll to
roll but your risk of losing the Place bets to a Seven goes up greatly if you’ve
got Place bets working on the Come-Out. Why bother?

3. As I’ve said- No combination of poor HA bets can combine to a better HA.

Again, forget the on-line practice. Practice with wincraps which is a true sim.
Then take your best results to real tables for some (hopefully) real profit.

I don’t really have to play the come-out roll, because in this strategy establishment of a point for the game I feel is irrelevant. This aggressive wager covers 30 winnings out-comes vs 6 loosing out-comes on the roll of the dice. Understandably, the loosing out-comes are devastating to ones bank-roll. If I was to wanting to avoid the come-out roll or have just approached the table (I would check what point has been established and may jump on the PASS LINE w/ a wager) my play would be slightly altered with a $10 wager on the COME with a other bets remaining the same.

Do understand that I build upon my starting wagers by downing my PLACE bet and taking max odds on established COME points. If I should “load the point line”, I would then increase my $10 COME wager to $20 thus then increasing my COME point odds as they become re-established.

I play on the understanding that the odds on the roll of the dice are always the same.

As for getting screwed on the table placard; I’m still working on that one.
