The shooter is hot and his point was five.He rolls the dice and it lands in between this guys(who was too fuckin lazy) chips. The dice landed in between the pass line bet and his odds bet.Guess what… the one die was a four the other was wedged it would have landed either on the one or three. So everybody starts yelling at this guy for being so lazy but no call was made. The pit boss had to call his supervisor to the table. He calls it a three of course the greedy prick but we all yelled at him so he wisely called it a no roll.Like I said before after a long debate the shooter is likely to roll a seven.I wanted to hop the seven but I felt bad for the guy and didnt. He rolls a seven anyway.

The shooter ... rolls the dice and it lands in between this guys ... chips. The dice landed in between the pass line bet and his odds bet.

Comment #1: I take it these were not experienced dealers.  One thing veterans do is separate stacks of chips whenever possible so that something like this will not happen.

Comment #2: I take it neither the box person nor the pit suit were very experienced.  The standard rule is that the face that would show if an obstruction were removed is the one that is called.  In this case, when there was apparently some dispute, one of the stacks should have been carefully moved away from the die.  The leaning die will then either remain leaning against the other stack, which can then be moved away also, or will fall to the table revealing the top face directly.  The only time this procedure cannot be used is when a die lands in the bank.  For this reason such a situation is a no-roll everywhere I have played even if the die is sitting on the chip stacks as though they were a continuous flat surface and could therefore be read normally.

I was at the sugarhouse a few months ago doing a profile for my website and I noticed them raise the table minimum mid-roll(yes mid-roll) and force players to press their passline bets to meet the new min.

Has anyone else ever experienced this at SH?

The P/L bet is a contract bet -

If the ” Contract ” was broken - which it was by the house -

Then you should have been afforded the opportunity to either -

Increase your wager to the the new increased limit - OR -

Remove your bet in its entirety !!!!!!

A contract violation is a violation and you should not be subjected to their bullshit -

F*ck Them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take ALL your bets down next time - including the line bets !!!!!!!!

An amateur ploy of the first magnitude. Doesn’t Pennsylvania have any controls over the dice tables?

No that deserves a complaint to the Casino Commission. What shift was this and who was the boxperson?I am there 3 times a week so I know them all.

I would have picked up my chips and left.

Good catch, Sevens.  I would be more than happy to increase my established flat Don’t bets.  I would have refused to do so on the front side, however, and I’m a hard sell that they can force me to.

I’m with you midnite. I’ve been shooting dice a long time and I’ve never seen this done. I suspect it was an arbitrary ruling by the box and not in the casino rule book. I would think you would have a legitimite complaint that would be upheld at some point down the line.

Midnight is correct, as usual…the correct call is what the die in question would fall on if the obstruction is removed (in theory) It sounds like the box and floor man bitched out by not making a solid decision, but maybe they were simply trying to placate the majority of the players and keep the peace. It’s the base dealers responsibility to make sure the the ‘line odds are separated sufficiently from the ‘line bet so that the die has some room to fall. Using the rule above, I’ve never seen where a decision couldn’t be made with the natural fall of the dice, in over 30 years of watching craps games for forty hours a week (or more).
