I’ve had the most practice on a 12ft table. Whenever I shoot on a 16ft table I have a hard time adjusting to the added length. What Length table are you most comfortable with?

Yep, I know exactly what you mean, its like going from a bar table to a pro pool table, there is a big difference in the way the dice hit. I like the smaller 12 foot tables, but I will throw on any table.

I like the smaller tables as well. I tried on the bigger table but couldn’t make it to the end and the dealer kept getting mad at me. I just wasn’t throwing hard enough I guess.

I’d have to say smaller tables. I have no idea how to play Craps, and if I just learned, I don’t want to play at such a large table where I can be fresh meat to be defeated over… and over…

Smaller tables. I’m not sure why, but I always feel more myself at them, especially with all the people. I think you get a little friendlier with 4-5 people than over 10 or something at bigger tables. That’s just me though.

I’m still a begginer, but whats comfortable to me is to stand next to the dealer on his left hand side, either one or two off,,usually if the table is crowded i will either wait for the spot or get that spot when it opens. or when its my time to shoot i will ask the person in that spot if i can shoot from there. since I’m right handed and i set my dice(65/44 or 2v) its much easier to shoot from this position as its pretty much the halfway point of the table so the table size doesnt matter. i think if you go to the casino often enough you should find a spot at the table thats best for you and get it or wait for it,,youre there to enjoy yourself and win some change so in my opinion that favorite sot is worth waitin for.

I like the smallest table possible. Sometimes on the way home from Reno me and my friend stop off at Boom Town.
Like around 2- 3 in the morning Boomtown cuts there table down to a half table where the wall is like 3 3-4 feet away
from you, you can damn near drop the shits on the number you want.

Hmmmm…. Not sure I’ve ever seen a 16 foot table - I have played on many 14 footers - I have a table (12 footer) and I practice from the 2nd tossing positions (SR2 or SL2) - This helps me to be ready for the longer tables - I will admit when shooting from SL/SR1 on a crowded 12 foot table it can seem like a am to close to the back wall—But to answer the threads question, the length isn’t as important to me as is the condition on the table — Of course I have spent hundreds (if not a few thousand) of hours practicing - 12 foot table from SL/SR2 or 14 footer from SL/SR1. FYI: I have been known to practice and shoot from Straight Out.
It’s not hard to mis-judge the length of a table, I once read a trip report that reported a 20 footer!! I had the opportunity to shoot on this table and found it to be a standard 14 footer.

Obviously, if you’re using dice control, you want to be as close as possible.
I’m heading to Biloxi next month. Where can I find the shortest table?

I don’t recall any “tubs” in Biloxi. I am not a fan of the tubs..
Speaking of where to shoot from - I had practice so much from SR2 (we talking a few years ago) that when I ended
up at SR1, on a super crowded table - I was really being pushed into the Stickman area, I traded positions to shoot from
SR2 just to get the right “feel” for the distance I wanted.

are the table lengths 12’ shortest and 16’ or are there shorter and longer tables. I also notice a difference in how high the rail is this bothers me some what.

There are 8 foot “tubs” in a few casinos. The longest table I think are 14 footers but I’ve heard tales of 16 footers.
I understand the higher rails are a problem for some shooters. I know a few “shooters” that bring something for them to stand on and several that wear
shoes to assist them by adding a few inches. My thoughts are if it helps a shooter to shooter better - then I am all for it.

Shot on an 8 footer in Turcs and Caicos last week.
My biggest complaint was when the table would get crowded there was not enough room to throw.
