What do you do to make sure your cash stays secure? Do you keep all your cash in the same place or split it up on your person? Cash, Travelers checks, Cashiers checks, credit, or something else?
Well, when I go to the casino I only take my debit card. I try to never carry cash on me anymore, simply for safety reasons. I have gotten those prepaid Visa cards from my bank and have taken those in place of my debit cards though.
I don’t use my debit card at the casino because of the ridiculous atm charges that they usually have. A ten dollar atm charge isnt worth it, i dont care how much money your taking out to gamble with. I recommend cash, large bills, front pocket, and just dont get complacent or loose with guarding your money. Especially if your drinking. The tables appreciate large bills, easy to count when buying in. And no matter what, no fifty dollar bills!!!

I’ve been told by many serious gamblers that fifty dollar bills are bad luck in gambling. Im not a very superstitious person at all, but you honestly dont see them very often and i definately dont want to bring bad luck if i can help it. The house holds a pretty good edge already ya know. So i guess i just heard it from ppl at local casinos and friends that have been throwin dice way longer than me. But when you really get down to it, what bills you use to buy in with, most likely hold no bearing on whether you will be a winner or loser at the table. Its just fun i guess….Similar to calling your bets off when the dice are rolled off the table and theirs a stick change.
I think a fanny pack & a belt coin bucket that zips up can protect your cash & chips. I like to stuff winnings away in the coin bucket, or use it when I need to transport 90-180 chips to another table or to the cashiers cage. I outgrew the belt loop, so I’ve probably lost the bucket for now.
Usually I take about $2,000 folded in half with a rubber band wrapped over it. Last time I won a total of $12,000 I was so paranoid of losing the money that I shoved it in a sock and put it in my briefs, while in bed and everywhere I went.
A Magnetic Money clip holds large bills great. Just don’t get near any room keys with it!
Don’t forget to ask for “color” when leaving the table, converting many smaller chips into fewer large chips.
If you gamble at the same casino often you can give your money to the cage tell them you want to use it as front money. You write markers to use this money. You can walk out with as much or as little money as you like by leaving it with the casino.
10,000 dollars (100’s) folded in half and wrapped with an elastic is only an inch thick ; should not be a problem carrying it.
Don’t flash your money, bad people are watching. Don’t count your money in your car.I did that once and someone tried to rob me in the garage at Foxwoods. They were not successful.
All my cash and wallet goes in the front right pocket on my pants or shorts.
The only time anything goes into the back pocket while i’m on the floor is if it’s cargo shorts with a button.
In the rack, I keep all my big chips in the middle. And shuffle anything orange or better into my pockets as well.
Also, i TRY to shoot with a team, and usually will have an entire side of the pit (at least stick left 1,2 and 3 taken up, which helps with some security there.
Always try to have someone with you, especially if you go on a huge heater and start turning green chips into purple chips, this gets noticed quickly.
The advice of taking chips/cash to the cage and setting a marker system works at the beginning of the night as well as at the end, if you just walk to the cage and ask them to hold them, and pick them up the next day when no one notices you that works if you’re playing where you’re staying (usually).
My wife and I went on a cruise out of NYC on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship -
We live in North Jersey - Parsippany -
MY suggestion was that the $8,000.- bankroll that I took aboard to play BlackJack was to be in American Express Travelers’ Checks - $ 100.- denominatio -
At the time ( at the bank ) it seemed to be a very wise / astute move -
All went well -
Until -
At the casino cage -
Linda and I had to to sign 80 travelers’ checks -
That scenario got to be old too fast -
A lesson learned -
But OTOH I sweated customs when I left the ship with $ 16,000.- in cash -

One piece of advice that I write about in a bankroll management chapter of my book (shameless self promotion) is if you’re on a trip, whether to AC, Vegas, or anywhere else where you’re going for multiple days, is to find a local branch of your bank, or open an account at a bank with branches at both places.
If you happen to go on a run where you turn 2 or 3K into 20 or 30K you can drop it in the bank before you skip town.
This will do two things
1) keep the money safe from others
2) keep the money safe from yourself.
Think about it. You go to vegas for a week and you bring 8000 cash with you.
you budget your expenses plus 1K/night for gambling.
Night 1, you go on an incredible heater. you turn you buy-in into 15K (i’ve done close to this a few times, and im sure im not alone on this board).
Now what? You want to walk around vegas with almost 25K in cash?
Wanna trust the room safe? how uncomfortable?
Not for me, I go to the bank of america and deposit it. In fact, when flying out, i load up the BOA account and ONLY bring that card with me.
BOA isn’t my primary bank, but i maintain an account for travel type purposes…not just gambling

Total BullShit !!!!!!!!!!!!
This idiotic statement by superstitious idiots warrants no further response than the above -
Advise your ” serious gamblers ” to either get a life or play monopoly - better yet try Bingo - and let them get a bell that they can ring when O69 comes up !!
