I have to admit that I have never heard of this bet before. I have friends that play craps all the time so I’m pretty sure I can ask them what it is and how to play this bet.

Fire bets can only be made before the shooter starts his come out roll.  Not all casinos have this bet available.  I recommend that if you are playing at a table that has the bet available, that you either decide to make the bet all the time or not at all.  For each point number made by the shooter, the dealer will place a fire bet puck on that number.  If the shooter rolls four different points before a seven out.  Then the fire bet pays out twenty five to one.  If he rolls five different number then it pays 250 to 1.  All six numbers pays 1000 to 1.  Most casinos in vegas will let you bet a max of ten dollars on the fire and most local casinos only allow five dollars max.  I would recommend only betting a dollar each time.  It is easier to recover your losses once you do hit the fire that way.  Also, keep in mind once the fire bet is made, some casinos will allow you to press your fire bet prior to the shooter establishing a point number.  Just fyi, however, if you only bet a dollar and stick to it, their is no need to press.  Just remember though, the fire is not all that common, and a lot of professionals advise against it.  I feel that for a dollar, its worth keeping the game that much more fun and when it does hit, at least you are in that group that gets that huge payout.  Good Luck

If the casino offers it, bet it, always. Why not its only a buck and it could win you some duckets. As for strategy, there is no fire bet strategy your either on before the come out or your not kinda like bonus bets in black jack.

The bet is that the shooter will be able to make 4, 5 or 6 individual points after a point is established. There are two different paytables, paying either 25, 250, and 1,000 for one, respectively, or 10, 200, and 2,000 for one. The betting limits are $1 minimum and $5 maximum, so a $5 bet could win either $5,000 or $10,000 depending on the paytable.

Passes or Craps rolls on the Come Out Roll do not count, nor does making the same point more than once. Special pucks and a customized table layout are all part of Perry’s new addition to the Proposition Box.

While having a shot at winning $10,000 on a craps table for a $5 bet is exciting, this bet is easily the worst one on the layout, with a house edge of 21 to 25%, depending on the paytable.

Full details of this new long shot option for craps players can be found at casino-craps-odds.com/ , i’ m sure you’ ll find everything you need about it .

Anyone have a strategy for when to place a fire bet?

Yes. Bet $1 for each new shooter.

I hate filling out forms. I won’t bet it.

The only time you have to fill out a tax form is if you hit the six number fire.  Which pays 1000 to 1.

I’d rather fill out a tax form for a 1000 dollar or more win than not win a thousand dollars at all.

Something to consider..

If the 5th button gets marked up which at my casino pays 250:1 consider laying the point for 100 dollars on a 1 dollar bet.. this way either way you win money.
This becomes more advantageous if the 6th button gets marked which at my casino pays 1000:1

Of course if the points are hit your losing out a bit, but me personally I prefer the sure thing.
