On my last trip I played on a mini craps table. ( Craps Shoot) for the first time.
The 6 foot table where you sit down to play. There is only one dealer, He is the stick person, dealer and box man. He works 30 minutes and off 30 minutes.
If you every have a chance to play at this table, DO! If you have any kind of control at all you should do real good.
Do to timing (they closed the table when they opened the regular crap table). I was up $100. in 5 minutes playing conservative. Starting out with a $6.00 six . I just rolled 6s and 8s. I was the only one at the table and it was time to roll as soon as he paid me. A pretty fast pace game.
Is there a mini craps (Craps Shoot) table in your area? Looking for another road trip and that may make a different’s on where I go.
Now I have not been there since last fall, but at the time there was some major renovations going on all around the craps pit. They had a 6 foot craps tub about hundred feet away, near most of the BJ, and other tables. I walked over to look at it and asked they BJ dealer next door when is it opened. He remarkred that they only opened it up in the evening, usually weekends and prefered it to be a “ladies table”.

IMHO - if it’s halfway as good as what LZNam says it is -
I’ll play with ” The Girls “ -

Absolutely! They may be sexist pigs, but I’m not. I’ll join you at the table.

Hey I’ll join you 2 guys and they can call us the ” 3 Musketeers “.
I KNEW IT! When I read the title of the forum, Craps shoot, I immediately thought of the Island Resort and Casino. I used to go there every 2 months (was just up there late June 2011). However, I have been getting killed there at the casino so am quitting for at least 5 months.
I know the dealers there quite well, you might’ve had Warren, Kenneth, Anne, or some new guy named Lawerence I believe? do those names ring a bell?
I think it was Anne. Short lady. (ok, Vertically challenged)
I don’t remember the guys name. He might be a new dealer.
He didn’t know how to work it when I told him $6.00 six for the dealer, I control meant. So he paid me and I just gave the $7.00 back to him. (many times) He was happy.
Hope it’s ok to post this here as it wasn’t exactly a short table, but it did have only one crew member working it, similar to the small table.
A couple of months ago, I was playing at Bills (across the st. from Bally’s) in Vegas. They have a 12’ table, but it has chairs all around with touch screen computers which you use to place your own bets (no chips on the table). You just give the worker your cash and they credit it to your computer. There is only one employee running the table similar to what you have mentioned on the mini table. She handles the stick, and the payouts ect. (you do throw real dice). When you win or lose, the amount is just added or subtracted from your computer. I actually lost there but I wasn’t a controlled shooter yet. The table has no excitement to it at all. Everyone just sits around placing there bet on the computer. The shooter will stand up to throw the dice. All of the players were random shooters (including myself) hence why we all lost…....lol After that day, I told myself I would never play one of those tables again as there was no excitement to the game and everyone seemed to be novices.
Anyways, after winning big later that night at another casino, I saw the light on dice setting/dice control. The table that I won big on was full and there were at least 4 advantage players there. All of the dice setters were the ones winning me the money. After I got home from that trip, I began learning how to set and control the dice, read Golden Touch book, bought a practice box, watched youtube vids, etc. I have seen HUGE improvements in my 7 avoidance since practicing dice control.
Getting to my point here regarding this “self serve” craps table…....... I now see some advantages to it for the dice controllers. You could bet don’t pass, dont come, and no one else at the table would know how you are betting (i don’t like others knowing I am betting against them). You could set for the 4/10, then set for the 7 betting don’t pass/dont come. It would probably also be worthwhile betting DP DC against the others at the table if they are just a bunch of random shooters. It seemed that the dice outcome at this particular table was hitting the random shooters harder than a normal craps table due to the no excitement, and pretty much craps newbies playing here. It seemed that the types of people playing here were people that hadn’t played craps before and were intimidated to try playing on a table with a live crew. Another advantage to this table is that there would be absolutely no chips in your landing zone since no chips are on the table (also no hands in your way, no chips flying while your throwing dice). Another advantage is that the table was fairly empty (since most play on the regular tables) and you could easily get your stick left or stick right place at the table. Another advantage is that this table wasn’t very closely watched since there is just one crew member there (no one getting mad at you for dice setting). You also have plenty of time to set the dice as it takes a bit of time for people to place their bets using the computers. The table was not popular at all so you could literally sit there at your place not betting on the random rollers if you wanted and just place a pass line bet when the dice are coming your way. This table literally has no distractions for the dice controller.
The lady at Bills casino said that they were the first to get a table like that and that they are a “test bed” so to speak for the rest of Vegas.

Thanks for the update. I’ve seen that table at Bill’s but never tried it. Compared to normal tables, what is shooting on it like? Seems you’d have to lean farther in.
Your welcome. Since I wasn’t a controlled shooter at the time, I wasn’t paying much attention to how shooting on it was but I don’t recall being uncomfortable at all. I was shooting from the far side of the table and it seemed fine, nothing out of the ordinary. The touch screens were fairly small and I don’t believe they hinder your throw at all but like I said, I wasn’t paying much attention to it at the time since I was random shooter so I could be wrong. If the screens do hinder your shooting, that would definately be a concern. I’m planning to get back to vegas sometime this month (hopefully in a few days), I’ll post back if I do on how it goes and if the touch screens make my throw uncomfortable. I think I saw a video of these tables on youtube awhile back. Maybe try typing Bills new craps table or something like that. If you can find the video on youtube, it might give you an idea.

Ok, I just got back from Vegas and spent about 3 nights playing on Bills touchscreen betting tables. It says “Rapid Craps” on the table if you want to try to google it. Shooting on it was not bad at all and I did quite well there (although you do lean in a bit more). The table has the standard old school style felt/flanel on wood (not that bouncy stuff). It is really low key and I enjoyed playing there and will go back. I had one bad crew working during the day though. Mind you, there is usually only one staff member working this table and they stand on the side where the chips are normally kept and they work the stick (so no one next to me). Anyways, I was doing soo well one day, that a second worker decided to stand next to me just about touching me as I was shooting. I was in the normal stick left one position. This worker stood where a stickman on a normal table would stand (but this table never has anyone there). So this guy would walk in and out of that position popping in just as the dice were leaving my hand. It was pretty pathetic on his part. I quickly cashed out and left. What idiots. I’m normally a good tipper but I didn’t tip them a dime with that madness. I returned the next night and took some more of there money with a different crew . There was even another advantage player that last night. It was a good time.
Oh yeah, one more thing…... It seems that about half of the dealers that I ran into on that table are really new to the game and make mistakes. Some even had a hard time pushing the dice over to me with the stick. A couple of times I was not paid when my number hit and I had to bring it up to them. Also I made a mistake on an earlier post when I said that no one can see what you are betting. There is a monitor behind the table that shows where the bets are on the table (but not who put them there). Also, the monitor keeps track of the points that were rolled.
On the way home I stopped at State line, Buffalo Bills. I had a blast playing there on the normal tables. They also had the standard old school bounce to them, and it was $2 minimum with 3x 4x 5x odds. There were 3 dice controllers at the table and we did well. The dealers were awesome, super friendly and welcoming. I will be returning to Buffalo Bills on every trip just because the atmosphere was great. I keep mentioning the bounce because I was at one table at Harrah’s….... the blue table. That table had dice bouncing right off of the table constantly. It was way too bouncy for my throw.

How does one tip the crew on a Rapid Craps table? Is there an option on the touch screen? Do you have to cash in the amount of the toke, and if so, how without cashing in completely? I asked Shuffle Master, the purveyor of Rapid Craps, these questions by e-mail some time ago and have yet to get a response. (Perhaps I should not have mentioned I was a player and not a casino manager thinking of licensing the game!)

It’s been a while since I have gone through Stateline, but I do not recall ever having a bad experience there. That is not to say I won every, or maybe even most of the time; just that the waves were positive.
