My brother was playing craps and I was watching well, one of the rules of thumb is to never put your drinks on the top ledge of the table. Ding dong had his drink sitting there and when he went to toss the dice he knocked it over onto the table. I almost died when he did that. The dealer was less than thrilled and pretty much kicked us out of there.
Oh wow! That is one of the rules that should be apparent. Things can get pretty crazy around a craps table and that is why they have the shelf below your chips, so drinks don’t get spilled. I bet you guys learned your lesson.
I’ve never had that happen to me but I have knocked my chips down onto the table. I was so embarrassed when that happened. The dealer was pretty cool about it and even joked with me about it.

Well, that was kind of him! Alright, so for my first lesson of learning craps, NEVER place drinsk on the table… but then again, who would? I mean, that’s just common sense. Were you ever allowed back into that casino?
Here’s one for ya - I was playing at The Borgata at about 9 AM, and my buddy who had never played (and was still drunk and not to bed yet) found me at the table and decided it was time to learn. He got the hang of the pass line pretty quickly, but took a while to understand how and why to take odds. After about 15 minutes, he wanted do more, so I showed him how to make a come bet. When it came time to take odds on the come bet, he took his chips, leaned over the table (he’s about 6’4”, a real beanpole), and put his money on top of his come bet himself. Almost immediately, I said “you can’t do that!”, so he reached over again and scooped the chips right off the “Six” box. This finally caught the dealer’s eye, who turned and said “you think this is a f—kin’ game??!!” To which my buddy replied - “well, they call it a craps GAME”. No joke! Session over, he left to go puke in the restroom.

Haha! Were you kicked out for that, Dad? I wish I could have been there to see that!
And also, didn’t your friend or brother know you shouldn’t put your drinks there? That’s sort of rude, rule or not. Well, at least he knows now, I guess.
I stayed at the table. My buddy probably would have been tossed if he had made a stink, but the table wasn’t overly busy and the dealer was able to figure out that he hadn’t taken any money that wasn’t originally his.

Heh, burn. Yeah, being drunk isn’t the best time to learn to play anything, I would think. Ah ha, but what can you do? But jeeze, how did your friend get so tall!?
I actually don’t have much of a funny story. I know my friends and I wanted to learn to play so we pulled up a few taps on the internet and made a “table” ourselves out of construction paper and we used the dice from our Yahtzee game in high school once. It never went very well but it was a fun passtime. We’d also play Texas Hold ‘Em, of course, but I was never good at card games! We ended up tossing cards into a bucket when things got boring.
I have seen players drop all kinds of things on the table by accident. An almost standard dealer response is to say, for example, “No action on the comb.”
As for spilling chips on the table, the only time I have seen a game stopped a player had a $10 Pass Line bet on a comeout roll. I didn’t see what he was trying to do, but as the dice hit the table so did about $200 in nickels, landing in a pile on and around his Line bet. The call was 7, a winner, and when the dealer paid him $10 he squawked. I can’t believe he wanted to get paid for the whole mess but he was definitely claiming $10 was not enough. The pit conferred with the replay booth, and after a few minutes the guy was told he had a $10 Line bet and would be paid accordingly. I think he was just trying to cash in on a fumble rather than stiff the house.
