We are planning to go to tunica late this summer anyone know where the best place to play and stay would be. The poker players I talk to have it narrowed to Horseshoe Gold strike and Harrahs with a couple of votes for Sams Town. I have heard that Sams Town has$1 or$2 dollar tables can anyone confirm this?

Yep, thats about it. Don’t forget its very close to Memphis (if flying, thats probably where you’ll land) so leave some time for Beale Street. I’d vote for the Horseshoe and an upgraded room. Nothing like a TV in the bathroom. I don’t know about the table minimums, sorry.
Thanks, just looking at Harrahs site the hotel is so far from the casino you have to to drive or ride their shuttle, that takes them off of the list.Horseshoe does seem like the best choice by far.

Well, you have to take into account that Tunica is basically a couple of casino areas out in the middle of nowhere. You’ll probably use the shuttle some. If you’re going to be there long enough to get bored with gaming, I would recommend renting a car.

I am pretty sure we will drive. I know for my part I will not get bored or want to leave the tables unless my luck runs bad and I go bust. If we do anything it will be cut the trip short and head home maybe stop at Memphis then
There is a 95% chance I will be going to Tunica MS around April 6th. Is there anything I can check out for you?
Most likely I will stay a Sam’s Town but that has been decided yet?
Ask a question and I will try to get the answer.
I plan to visit all the casinos, There are a few casinos on the way there that I might stop at too.
I’m on no schedule so my plans may change on where I will be. Go with the flow.
Hope for no rain as I will be on the Harley.
Ride all day and hit the casinos at night. Life is good
I like the $5 tables and fire bets or any other like sharpshooter and the like any info on these things and good poker rooms would be great thank you. I would love to ride my bike down but that is solo only option and my wife is going along with her sis and her husband.
Was just in Tunica the last week of March 2012. During the week Fitzgeralds, Tunica Roadhouse, and Resorts all had a $3 Craps table going during the day. The best place to play Craps is the Horseshoe as they always have multiple tables going and they have the fire bet. I stayed at Sams Town and enjoyed playing Craps there. The only problem was that there was only one table going during the week and I really like to shop around. The Hollywood casino down there had a different bet. It is kind of like the fire bet, however, you had to roll every number exept the seven (2-12)and it pays 145 to one. You can also bet the 2-6 for 35-1 or the 8-12 for 35-1. I actually hit the 8-12 for $70 on a $2 bet. Just a little different spin. The casinos are spread out so a car is a must if you want to shop around. Hope this helps and I had a very good time.
The Gold Strike, Horseshoe and Roadhouse are all walking distance from each other. The Gold Strike and the Horseshoe have the best rooms. I usually stay at the Gold Strike. It’s harder to get a comped room at the Horseshoe even with a diamond card.
If you stay at Harrahs, they have a free shuttle that runs to the Goldstrike, Horseshoe, and Roadhouse…Those are the only 4 places you need to go. Horseshow will comp you a $30 dollar meal or buffet if you play for 30 minutes, unlike Harrahs…they comp you if you play for about 5 hours. Horseshoe and Goldstrike are the best. But if you want to play poker…Horseshoe is the place to be…not to mention 100x odds on the craps table.
I just got back from Tunica. It was a good trip I came back a little heavier. I played at Goldstrike and Horseshoe Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Both have 5$ tables all day long. GS has all-tall-small and HS has Fire bet. The Fire bet was 5$ max, 4 numbers paid 25 for 1 and forgot what the other payouts were. I only remember the 4# because I got paid on one. Both casinos have good table characteristics not too bouncy. GS had newer felt because of the ATS side bet, so maybe slightly bouncier. I like the HS tables better and the fire bet, but GS had better dealers. The buffet at GS was better too.
We are going 7=22=12
thru 7=25=12 staying at the Horseshoe and playing there and The Gold Strike for the most part. I don’t get out much so pretty up for this
Limit your action to 8% of your buy in. Otherwise it will be a short stay at the tables.
Good advice how ever I have been playing the Iron cross lately so I may have a quick demise. I may go with the 8% till I get some casino chips and the push things a bit.I still remain a $100 buy in person good or bad I cannot pry more than that from my hands at a time.
