went to my local casino tonight and was pkaying at the $25 table beacuse the $15 were too crowded. one side of the table was closed and they said they were waiting for a high roller. when he finally showed up he had the whole side of the table to himself with ropes behind him and a security guard to keep people from lingering. then the dropped our side from $25 to a $10 dollar minimum for whatever reason and the didnt allow any new players into the game. so i am sitting there with my $500 bankroll and the hight roller buys in for 40k… my first time i only made a few passes and one point. the high roller was a random shooter and didn’t seem to interested in throwing the dice. my next time throwing the dice i made three points (4,10,8) and a handful of numbers before i sevened out. i think the high roller was pleased and he paid back a 10k marker after i was done shooting. everyr oller he had three to five hundred dollars on all the number plus large odds. i am not sure how much he won but i ended up $300 for the night and had a great time.

Too bad he didn’t tip you! We were at Wynn awhile back and came upon a table with 3 guys on the end and a guy in the middle who was only cheering on the other guys. They were playing from the dont’s as do we. The main guy who had the money was betting $3,000, establishing one number. I can’t remember if he was laying odds. He had hundreds of thousands of dollars in his rail. Myself and my compainions buy in, me for $400, too funny my measley $400. My companions bought in for around the same. The money guy would let his two buddies shoot and he would occasionally. One of the two guys kept hitting the point costing his buddy and us money. But seriously costing his buddy at least $3,000 everytime, dang. Finally my boyfriend is giving this guy a look , pass the dice! My boyfriend got the dice, He is not a precision shooter at all but had been just starting to read about that and practice and was building his own table to practice shooting. Anyways he can throw 7’s a fair amount and did so. It was quite fun to have people cheering when 7’s are being rolled. We ended up leaving with a profit and apparently the money guy was happy cause he colored out when we did. So hoping he’d throw a chip our way, afterall he let his buddy throw away at least $18,000 of his money. When the dealer was stacking money guys chips it was $500,000.

One thing I always remind myself when I see someone cash in thousands more than his buy in:  You never know what he did this morning or yesterday.

Tonight he may have bought in for $5000 and cashed out $25,000.  But this afternoon he may have bought in for $50,000 and colored up nothing.
I have also seen the opposite….someone who blew through a $10,000 buy in.  Did that same person make a $20,000 profit yesterday.

So my rule: I never care what someone else has done while I am at the table.

JHPA, I couldn’t agree more.
As far as money guy goes who knows what his buy in was or for that matter as you said, what he may have won or lost over any given period of time

Dealers don’t care that you may be well in the hole for your time at the casino.  They expect a big tip after they’ve dealt you a big winning session.  Players knowing the overall picture may not feel so inclined.
