According to an old article by Mr. Catlin: Lay the 4 & 10. In his scenario the player could stay for one hand and had $200. He builds a good case for sure. But i was thinking if the dice were passed to me. Also i would probably bet the PL & DP and take the DP odds if i should comeout with a 4 or 10. I’m not a fan of Doey Don’t strategy but this seems like it works on the simulator. Thoughts?

The more i play it, the more i like it.  If you don’t get damaged early. IOW, if you can put up the bets with the house’s money it’s better, obviously. You can’t buy too many twenty dollar lay bets, with a hundo. BTW my crew doesn’t post many Lay bets so it took a bit to get the rythmn.

No, they’re working all the time. A new shooter rolling several sevens before establishing a point, i get paid every seven.

Best bet on the table is the odds.

You’ll get no arguement from me.
About the 4th time a Lay 4 goes down in flames, you’re thinking the ‘ol grind looks awfully good.
If i keep buying back my Lay bet double, until it gets paid, it gets hard on my pacemaker. smile

Best bet on the table is the odds.

The best bet on the table depends on what your goal is.  The odds bet is traditionally cited as the best bet because it is a fair bet (i.e. the house has no advantage on it).  If all you want to do is win enough for a trip to the all-you-can-eat buffet, however, laying no-4 or no-10 offers the best chance to win.  See http://midnightskulker.casinocitytimes.com/article/whats-the-best-bet-on-the-table-57356.

For the fun of the game:

Why not put money on every place number: 4,5,6,8,9,10, now you have 24 combinations that will will you money on the next roll, against a 6 combinations that will lose it all. So, 67% chance of winning some money, 13% push, and only 13% loss it all.

I’ve seen people call all the bet off, after a 4,5,6,8,9,10 hits, and wait until the next come out. Now the only way you will lose it all is when someone roll a 7 before any of those number after the come out.

And if you catch a luck streak, you can have all the bets turned on and enjoy it.

More importantly, it is much more fun than to lay the 4, 10, and wait for someone to roll a 7. Which could be extremely boring on a “hot” table.

I’d drop $15 on the DP and lay the 4 and 10 on the come out.You can’t lose both lay bets on one roll and the 7 puts you up $25 even with the $15 whack on the DP.  Once the point is established, take down the lay bets, make a $10 DC followed by a $15 or $20 DC and wait for the 7.  You don’t need to lay odds to protect your bets with this method, could throw in a $1 yo for a hedge…
