For what it’s worth -

If you are serious about craps -

And by your handle I assume that you are -

You might seriously consider joining and posting on the http://www.diceinstitute.com forums site -

It appears that with the exception of a few of us on this board -

The majority are ” shake, rattle and rollers ” -

Who have either no concept of controlled shooting, no belief in it , no desire to attempt it or have had no success at it -

The mind set on the above is a   180* turn-around from this place !

You will find takers on your offer and serious minded controlled shooters there - for sure !

DC

There is a problem with the site today and from what I heard today is the Admin is working to get it back “On Line”.

In the meantime, Jump on Axis Board.  90% of the members of Axis are on Dice Institute and a lot of the same threads can be found on both Boards.

Give them a try, and remember they both welcome new members and love to share ideas and experiences.

Thank you for the update.

I will try again today.

I have just purchased this book about hedge betting.  It is like stock market guru who wrote the book.

This strategy works great at casinos.  I can’t wait to try at Las Vegas.

Mr Eagle, where do you play?

Locally I play at Windsor/Detroit. Prefer Windsor with $5 tables, non smoking and since you need a passport to cross over the tables are not very crowded.  Good crews and after a few visits lots of comps ( free buffett, table match play, etc ).

I used to visit MGM/Greektown, as I have had good success on the tables, but the crowds gets “difficult” and overly crowded.  To much play interuption and arqueing about $5 bets being “missed” and not paid.  It starts off and enjoyalbe day then after a while it becomes frustrating.  6 more minutes and thru the tunnell and its nice, quiet, friendly and win or lose the day is fun.  Of course winning is always prefered but lets be realistic here.  The past 2 years my year ended up on the positive side of the ledger.

I do get to Vegas 2 or 3 times a year ( 2 work 1 play ) and like to hit the Ballys,Paris,Bellagio,Silverton,Caesars locations.  Depending on some trips I have had decent success on Venetian/Palazzo tables.  Can’t figure them out.  Either I kill them or pay the light bill.  I do sneak in softly and try 3 or 4 hands.  If its not working I’m done until the next trip.

Casinos are opening in Ohio so maybe after 6 - 9 months or so ( when the crowds slow down and the dealers are not rookies )  I will peak in and give them a try.

Few years back played at Montaineer (Wv), Presque Isle(Pa) and their tables are below standards but have made 2 trips to the Meadows ( Pa, near Pittsburgh ), a newer casino and have had good success.  May give them a few more trips this year.

One thing about hitting the same local casino ( Windsor ) is that you get to learn the tables that you perform well on and it does ease some of the pain if things are off.  In other words, there are 3 out of 5 Windsor tables that I do very well on ( one is a crapless and its a new experience ) and that particular day I am off, then its either head home or drop down my bets to a very minimum.

Well thats it,

It seems like you go to casinos often.

I wish there was something close to Washington DC…

Well, I have just heard they might build something close by but no table games of yet.

I have to settle for AC or Las Vegas.

It would be very nice to meet people from this forum during the trip.

Good Luck…

If you’re in the DC area the closest craps tables are at Hollywood in Charles Town, WV. It should be a little over an hour away depending exactly where you are. They’ve typically got good crews working the tables. I’ve noticed more new dealers recently, I’m not sure what they’re prepping for or if its just normal dealer rotations. (The ‘regular’ crews are still around in other games and I haven’t had time to stop and ask them what’s up)

If you want to travel a little bit to Delaware, you can go to Harrington, Dover, or Delaware Park. Someone was just complaining that DP changed up their felt to the detriment of the players. I haven’t been that far recently so I don’t know first hand.

Then there’s some casinos up in PA.

The new place at Arundel Mills has some electronic/bubble roller variation of craps. I haven’t been over to check out exactly what that is, I just know you don’t get to touch the dice.

I did not like West Virginia since there was so much smoke in the casino.

I prefer smoke free environment.

Is Dover smoke free?  I haven’t received any hotel promotion but if I do, I wouldn’t mind visiting Dover.

I like AC and Las Vegas since they provide accommodations.

Regarding the “western” part of West Virginia,  the Mountaineer Casino is the Poster Child for smokey casinos.  In addition to the old men who crowd the only one, open, beatup, morning table and the hostile crowd, thats one of the main reasons I now avoid the locale.

I do enjoy smoke free ( Caesars Windsor/Detroit ) Casinos.  Even thougth Las Vegas is not smoke free, with they venilation systems on the strip, I never seem to be bothered by smoke.  That does not pertain to Freemont Street.
